Hi all - just getting caught up with you concerning this ROV issue. I recognize this has been discussed extensively and there is a delete option and an aftermarket tethered ROV . Based on my limited understanding it is primarily a concerning during cold start up. Some people have indicated once the engine heats up it quickly thaws the ROV.

I am considering teeing a 5/8" bypass line into the stock vent line and installing a manual shut off valve that can left open while trail riding or at least until the motor is brought up to temp. Once the motor is up to temp the ball valve could be closed. I would run the bypass line using the same routing that people have recommending for the delete option. Considering using this type of valve and placing it somewhere easily accessible.

or maybe one of these styles :

Thoughts?

One of the most beneficial factors of the bypass loop is to keep the intercooler clean from the oily waste that will build up in there over time causing problems. Mostly power loss

After 4 seasons on my winder and hearing of the oil buildup in the intercooler I figured I'd pull it out during the offseason and clean it out. What a waste of time that was. Not even a drop of oil came out. If I remember correctly it was a pain in the #*$&@ to get out too.

DMC, you are using the stock roll over valve set up still?

1600km on mine and I had oil in the intercooler(about a cup) and all the way into the intake pooled up. Telltale sign was a black panel near the exhaust. Ive tried to make it work and ended up deleting it as I didn't want to subject sensors and the equipment to oily residue ever again once i had cleaned everything up.

I pulled my intercooler a week ago,the sled has 7,000 miles on it. There was 1 tbs of oil in there.
