Yes its a T-4 exhaust off a yz450f, and it works great. Also its 15lbs lighter. Sounds way cool, not too loud (dosent sound like a tractor any more). No rpm loss, if anything 100-200 more on top, and a little more crisp on the bottom. For me the weight is the big difference. And now i can close that stupid hole in the tunnel and save more weight do to ice build up.

Thanks for the help.

Not too shabby, if I did it I would mount it in center though, via new hangers or whatever is needed.
Other thing to consider is that the YZ450F exhaust is designed for one big exhaust pulse, and we have two half pulses in this engine. 2x250 vs 1x450.
Weight savings is nice though!

I think people are over - thinking this whole exhaust pressure / back pressure, all that jazz. Ask anyone that's dumping open header into the tunnel in the mountain Apex forum.

T-4 exhaust
The silencer didn't bolt right on. A little enginuity, a silencer, and two hours of time it was finnished. I cut the stock pipe just before the bend. Welded a piece of stainless tubing about 1 1/2 inches long to the end of the stock pipe (so the silencer would have a snug fit on the pipe). Then i welded two small pieces of stainless wire (bent in a U shape) to the pipe, to hold the silencer on the pipe, with two springs. Lastly i welded a piece of 1/2 alum stock (4 inches long) to the silencer to mount to the stock rubber bracket. That was it. And it sounds ausome at 11500 rpms.

A tuned exhaust will add power throughout the powerband, tuning is very critical on 2 strokes, and on 4 strokes not so much. However on a sled thats designed for 12000 rpm, it will play a more important role then on a standard car engine for example say.
I wish DynotechJim would dyno some exhausts for us because I dont believe they are not all built equally.
I think that this choice though (YZ450) is a good one, because the firing order of the Phazer is such that it will be a very similar exhaust output.
I would really like to see what the Excel exhaust did on the dyno though.
