So I am starting my summer project. I will be slow going just because I dont have a lot of time. I bought the Nytro at a good price with a bent subframe. I have replaced that and picked up a 136" 1.5" track. Next comes the turbo.

Plans thus far:

-rear mount turbo based off other kits and projects I have seen online
-136" extensions
-relocate steering
-Lighten it up a bit

I will be using a evo 3 turbo off a 2 stroke turbo kit I had. I have an intercooler with a BOV mounted and plan to use 2" charge tubes. I want to mount the turbo off the stock header with a slip on connector so I can go back to stock if I choose to later on. I will be using a small muffler tunnel dump (not sure what to use yet, maybe a motocycle muffler, cherry bomb, or a small aftermarket honda exhaust or similar). I will be trail riding so I need to keep it as quiet as posible. I plan to use the stock motor and fuel system this year at 6 psi and maybe go to 10-12 psi after I dial it in and get some seat time. Right now I have GEMs controller but I am on the fence on that. I have been pondering RB3 or a Power Commander.

This is my first 4 stroke turbo so I hope people will chime in with both constructive criticism and point out things they like.

Thanks for reading,
TJ

So I have been going back and forth in my head. How much affect will charge tube size have on lag? If I plan on limiting it to 10-12 pound range will 1.75" OD pipe be sufficient will spooling a bit quicker? Or should I stick with 2"? I am hoping to limit lag best I can.

a little progress. I "dry" fitted a couple things. Im gonna go up the right side (sitting on the sled) with the charge tube and over the motor into the intercooler. Less bends than up the left side/

soI moved some stuff around. mounted the overflow tank, electronics, and re-ran some wiring.

Also lifted the radiator up with some spacers so I can run the charge tube under it.

Im starting to see why kits cost what they do. There is a lot of planning that go into the kits.

so I put the project on hold but I have been back at it the past couple weekends. I decided to not go with the intercooler and I built a air box. Im limiting it to 5-6 pounds this winter and I will likely go to meth or a water to air next year.

Here are a few photos to share.

still left:

lots of small things
mtx cooler
oil system with scavenge pump
hook up Gems
finish air box
add gauges (water temp, boost, afr)
hook up some piping and weld muffler on

I have some experience with 2 strokes but this is my first 4 stroke turbo. Feel free to give me some input, what looks right and what looks wrong.
