Wish i could remember which snowmobile magazine i seen this
in today at Chapters ? It shows a Yamaha with the seat and front
pannels off showing the Propane Tank and Turbo and was talking
about it being 3 times easier on fuel. Anyone else read this article?

propane

i read this as well . and haveing run propane truck,s and done the convesion,s i wondered when some one would do this. as propane has a high octane rateing . 105 i beleve and it,s all ready atomzed and under psi and it,s allso has low emsion,s .

propane

yes it would produce less power in a moter that does not need high octaine fuel that,s all . just like rx 1 and apex,s drop power as well when you run preium as they dont have the compresion to take advantage of the higher octane that,s all . :flag:

Black John - can you explain how the RX does not benifit form higher octane fuel? I have been running Prem in my 05 RX-1 just for the fact of having higher octane fuel. Is it needed or no?

Thanks

octane

reguler gas is all that,s needed . by useing high octane than what,s needed you lose h/p . and you pay more for the privlage of reducd hp .

He speaks the truth, higher octain has less btu's when combusted, its best to only use what you need and nothing more, its also nice to have the safty net of higher octain when turbo'ed so detonation is avoided.

Damm, I thought I was doing something good for my sled. Never ran prem in my brand new 97Mtn Max. But though nice 4stroke extra power.
This RX rips now but I will be saving even more going to Reg gas.'

Thanks Guys!!! :rocks:

You may need higher octane if you change operating paramters of the motor.

If running stock use what is recommended by the manufacture.

Add boost-- add octane
Add Compression to NA engine- add octane
Screw with timing- may need to add octane

remember this is the boosted category.
