Snow show is this weekend & I'm still undecided on what helmet to get. Anybody else with 2 cents to give?

I always had problems bad with fogging with mx style, and with a full face. I got one of those No-fog masks and that really helped out. I plan to get a thermal lense for my scott goggles, they are the lenses that are used by snow boarders and i've heard they will no fog. Also polarized I think.

I wear a moto style and that has worked best for me. If I didn't wear glasses it would be perfect in my opinion. What I do to keep warm is I take duct tape (or gorilla tape cause its black and stiffer) and I tape around the goggles but fold the tape back on itself so it isn't sticking to everything it touches. I'll tape all the way around the goggles so the tape sticks out like two inches around the goggles. After that is done the goggles obviously wont fit into the helmet, so I take a good pair of scissors and slowly start cutting the tape into the shape I want so the goggles fit nicely into the helmet! Do it right and it looks really good and blocks all the wind. I had my last pair of goggles done so well that my glasses would fog up because I had no wind at all in my goggles...so I had to do some extra cutting. But when I wear my contacts, its awesome.
I could take a picture if all that doesn't make any sense.

Yes I think a picture could help.
Also is this common for goggles, or do you possibly have a helmet and goggle combination that don't fit well together?

I can't speak for everyones helmet but for me and my 3 riding buddies we all tape out goggles up like that, and we all have different style helmets and goggles. They fit well from the factory but the foam and cushions will let some air through...especially when it is really cold, thats when I notice it most.
I tried posting a picture last night, but couldn't quite get it figured out, never done it before. I'll do a search and see if I can get it done.

I mostly do high speed lake ridding and I don't have much wind shield on my SRX. So I needed a good helmet.
Love my BV2S. It does need to fit tight since the mask has to be stuck around your mouth. Not an ounce of wind gets in. So quiet and warm. I doesn't fog if you use it properly. If its for you then you'll be in heaven.

I've just picked up a BV2S for a great price off ebay. It wasn't my first color choice but I'll make do for a brand new 2007 model for $220.
I've been through 3 motocross/goggle combinations in the last few winters and I was never overly satisfied. Add to this I wear glasses and while I had contacts in while using goggles, it is a PITA and my eyes are not so tolerant to them anymore. I'm hoping to wear my glasses in the BV2S. It doesn't get overly cold where I ride.
The other thing is I hate taking the helmet off every time I want to drink, eat or have a trail side chat. The BV2S should eliminate a few of those removals.
It doesn't feel much heavier than the Fox V3 Race it is replacing.

You should have no trouble wearing your glasses with the BV2S . I have the BRP Mod 2 and it is very eye glass friendly also. It has never fogged up on me, and easier to get on with the glasses than the BV2S, because the whole front lifts up out of the way. I only ride trails and the helmet works well for me.

i've seriously considered buying the brp mod2 helmet, but everytime I go to a dealer to try one on they dont have my size. I dont even know what my size is, xl or xxl...they only have a L. I'd like to have one for when it is really cold...and it always seems to get really cold when we ride up to Silver City, MI. That really long, really wide and fast trail that never ends... its a cold trail when its -40!

I bought one BRP MOD2 this year, about a month ago when I got my sled, got it for 199.99 in black. Also, it seems to be made SMALL all the helmets I've ever own were size XL, I had to get this one in XXXL!

thats good to know thanks. I stop in dealers once and a while to try them on but never have any big sizes. I want to find the size that fits so I can shop around online maybe and find a deal. I'm not really in a hurry either...my moto helmet with all the duct tape works pretty good, except my helmet is kinda falling apart. It is like 7 years old, and getting a little snug.

SF - after riding with an openface for 24 years I finally bit the bullet and bought a Doo Mod 2. Did a lot of research and tried on a ton of helmets. I'm mildly claustrophobic so I had to get something that I could get on and off easily, and a helmet with extremely good visibility, especially periphireal (sp??) vision. I didn't want it to fog either!
Rode over 3000 miles last year with the Mod 2 and I can tell you I love it! I did add a heated shield (just in case). Great visibility compared to the original Doo Mod and very comfortable for the big miles days. Warm too.
The helmet, at leat to me runs super small. Most helmets I tried I was either an XL or 2X. THe Mod 2 I'm wearing a 3X. Don't buy one unless you can try it on.

I bought a Mod II this last wknd.
I had a different result with the size of the helmet, I wear a L normally and went with a M. I may also pick up a an open style helmet for those warmer days or when I think we'll be off trail dinking around.
