From your experience, what are the pros and cons of the 13mm sway bar (06 ER)?

How exactly should the suspension be set up to get optimal handling results?

Thanks!
Jess

If your talking about cornering , start with snow trackers for carbides, tighten up the limiter strap a hole and transfer adjustment enough to keep skies down when on throttle hard off the corners. That is what worked for me on my o6. Personally I like the 11mm sway bar out of a newer apex better than the 13mm bar the ride seems better.

13 mm sway bar will keep the sled flatter but you will need to soften the front springs to get the sled lower to work the sway bar faster.

Some liked the 13mm and some the 12mm. Only thing I ever heard was the 13mm caused a bit more kick when hitting something with only one ski then say the 12mm. Both corner flatter them the stock 10 or 11mm.

Sled handles a whole lot flatter and with less inside ski lift with the 13mm bar. You certainly have to be more careful riding over a snowbank when the snow is uneven. It can cause your sled if you're not prepared/ready.

what you need to state is what your goal is?
i've had the 13mm sway bar in since the beginning, flatter handling less ski lift are all advantages little harsher ride it still in the set up of course to get the most out of the bar turn your front springs down 1.5 turns pull limiter strap and set the front toe.
as for carbides and ski's ditch the factory ones from 06, i use curves, and experiment with choice of carbide.
again after using many combos i use nine inch shaper bars on my curves with 144 studs still darts a bit but overall turn in and easy steering i can easily live with it

There are more ways to set up the suspension than there are chocolate bars in a candy store. All depends on where you ride , how you ride, rider weight, what feedback you want to feel from the sled, etc.......................................
I personally like Snowtrackers. Fixes everything that's wrong with the factory skis. They track well , no darting and make the steering feel light.
I have rebuilt and revalved GYTR shocks and the springs one turn away from full loose. 12mm sway bar. New oilite bushings in the front end. Limiter strap in the stock location. All skid bushings are inspected and replaced as needed.Rear shock rebuilt and revalved with a Big Boy spring set on the second clip position 5. My RA is usually in the middle. My skid is a 136 with an Ice Attack track for them Oh#$%&* moments.
For me this setup allows me to cruise the trails briskly, rail the corners and supercruise on the lakes.

I have driven an Apex with the 13mm bar. There is a slight difference in the body roll but not a lot. I went with the 12mm because I don't mind hanging a ski in the corners.
If I feel the need to flat corner at high speeds I can always get a 97 Vmax. Slot car on the trails but a back breaker when its rough.

Sorry I meant to write "how do I set the suspension up with the 13mm sway bar for optimal handling results"

I ride in northern Maine where the trails are pretty wide, with the occasional smaller switch back trails. If I'm in the powder its because I f'd up lol!
Rider weight: 140
I like to ride fast, basically in and out of corners as quickly and painlessly (somewhat flat) as possible.

I'll look into the snow trackers, I've never heard of them. I have new oilite bushings, no idea where my limiter strap is ill have to figure that out.

I'd say my main concerns are:

My last apex (GT) had the 13mm sway bar and Simmons skis where my current ER has stock skis & sway bar. I'm afraid that I'm going to hate the way my current ER handles.

Also, my Father said the 13mm is a waste of money, trying to get other opinions

Thanks!

The ultimate goal is to corner as painlessly and as quickly as possible as well as eliminating as much darting and ski lift as possible.

I previously had an 06 GT with 13mm sway bar with simmons skis, now I have an 06 ER with stock sway bar as well as skis. I'm afraid I won't like how my current ER handles.

Well, i had a 2006 Attak, and the 11 mm swaybar was not enough, the 13mm was better but a little harsher in the stutters of course. what i didn't like as much was the way it would lift suddenly when you got to the pivot point of the inside ski lift, its like the inside would jump up very suddenly when ridden on the limit, its a little like all in or all out.. so i think the 12mm is best of both worlds, i'll see, i think my 2016 has a 12 mm sway and got a 13mm also to compare.. hope this helps.. in your situation, i would put snowtrackers agressive on the stock skis, get the shocks in front revalved and shortened a bit, that should do it, the 13mm sway bar is ok but if you hit the real twisties, you have to be carefull somewhat..
