Pulled straps in 2 Holes on Both Front and Back

I think the pushing in the Sharp corners can only be cured with new skis. I have 9" shapers on mine and on hard pack works great but when the corners get soft an deeper keel would be nice.

A little birdie told me even Yammie knows the Skis are not good enough for an rider forward sled, don't be surprised to see some new agressive ones for '09

Me I hope Power Steering makes an appearance soon, you'll be able to run crazy ski pressure and carve like no tomorrow and it won't kill your arms. Apparently it won't add more than the weight of an 2 lb little birdie either... No idea what sled it will first make an appearance on though.

so you're saying 2 holes front and rear gives too light of steering?? sign me up, my arms are killing me. I hope you are correct and this is the answer to my problems, guess I'll find out in a few days.

Not too light, but not too hard, call it normal
I forgot to mention I've got C&A outlaws with 6" shapers on and I find the steering to be quite excessive. Crummy thing is, I bottom the front shocks frequently as well, so I've been looking for a way to reduce steering effort, while at the same time, a way to increase spring preload to prevent bottoming. standard nytro and I'm willing to try anything at this point. 920 kms and I'm not much further ahead than I was at day 1. I find the front end very inconsistent as well, as our temps have been up and down, and trail conditions have been all over the place. Frustrated, but willing.

Before i touched the straps I wasn't too sure about this sled, it was very skittish in Corners, wanted to high side, wouldn't carve.

Last night I pulled in Both(front and back) Straps two holes, now it absolutely carves and is an lot more stable. At high speed(Road Running) it's an lot of fun now.

I went from Likeing this sled to loving it.

It's an RTX, with 55 psi in the Floats and 9" shapers on Stock skis.

anybody else try this......?...wondering how it works in differtent conditions....?....back strap in general.

I tried it with 1 hole front and back, 70psi and pilot 5.7s. Took it out today and it was a huge improvement over my previous setup.

I've raised both straps 1 hole each, adjusted ski alignment(had major toe-in) backed off center shock preload and sled is starting to perform as it should have out of the crate. A BIG thank you to morrisond & gormleyflyer2002 for pointing me in the right direction. I've also set front rebound out 16 clicks to help soak up the big nastys and not buck me off. Originally I set up the front preloads softer than spec, but now I've tightened them up to stop bottoming. I can't stress how much of a change pulling down the straps made. Wheelies aren't as big, but sled will hold a decent line railing around corners. I will try 2 holes tomorrow front & rear to see if its to my liking. thanks again, as I never would have thought to start messing with the straps or even backing off the center shock to less than minimum specs. ;)!

The Nytro is unrideable out of the box.

Tightening the front limiter strap 2 holes brought the sled up to where it should be out of the box (along with softening front shock), which is typically too light on ski pressure (not just Yamaha).

I went a third hole on the front straps and now the skis stay down on the snow. It would steer decent now if Yamaha gave us more than 2" of carbide with our $9000 sleds.

Going to switch the ski bumpers 180 degrees like another post suggests and install some real carbides before next ride. Then going looking for coupling block mods to get it to couple up.

Do you guys find that the more you pull down the straps your traction decreases?
It shouldnt if your pulling down the back too should basically just lower the center of gravity equaly

I must not be to picky because all I did from stock was stiffen up the rear spring, set the front float psi and ride and i love it and the steering weight is fine? lol

I'm just glad I love my sled, i was worried I'd be having to tweak everything haha.

only problem I have is darting, but to be honest my last sled was way worse lol so its like an upgrade anyway? haha

Good luck with your settings guys.

I'm gonna try this, I had a hell of a time with mine yesterday, i was really disapponted with my nytro. It was a constant fight between the skis and track yesterday.

I ended up riding the revxp instead which rails the corners so amazing. I hate to admit this but I had a hell of a fun time riding the 800r x.

Well then dont ride a $5500 2007 IQ 600 then because it keeps right up with mine and is an absolute saweeeet chassis. Never owned a Pooo and never thought I would say it, but my buddy had to force me off his sled and also told me to never make him ride mine again. :o|

I could very easily see myself on a Dragon after riding that IQ 6......

Unchained, till it starts blowing plugs. When I went to snowdeo last year, I heard one of the Poo reps talking as I walked by the demo tent. His comment was "damn dragon, thats the 3rd set of plugs its fouled in the last hour!" I took that as a sign right then and there. I'm sorry your sled isn't working out for you, sometimes we make mistakes when we purchase.

Mine is working fine after everything I have done. Im adding to what MARK said about enjoying the 800 R XP. Sorry nothing, Poo did a fantastic job on that little 600 IQ not to mention that he paid $6370 otd for the HO cfi.

Besides you know your not crazy when the people you have been switching with have nothing good to say about your sled except the engine.
