Original Cap is on left. New on right. These will be seen on newer versions of the QS3R. Original style is prone to leaking the Nitrogen after time through the hole the Nitrogen needle causes and no cap to prevent it. Is a optional upgrade but recommended. If 3 way clicker doesnt click Nitrogen is low.
Thought maybe those with these should see why you still need to refresh these awesome shocks.

This is example of some oil
Lightly used for comparison
Way better oil I use

Fox should retrofit all of the OLD shocks out of common politeness, but we know thats not going to happen. Thanks for keeping up on all of this Steve. Better get some in stock.

1364 miles on my 18 RTX...I'll service them next season. I think mine should be good for at least another season anyway. But thanks for the info, it's appreciated.
This guy obviously rode it good. Is rare to see the fronts burned more than rear!1364 miles on my 18 RTX...I'll service them next season. I think mine should be good for at least another season anyway. But thanks for the info, it's appreciated.

Steve what is protocol for shocks freshened up when they are working as they should and no leaks on these Qs3s?
3000mi or two seasons is what I always tell people. All depends how hard you ride since water intrusion does not seem to be a issue on these. The standard shocks I would do every season or 2000mi no matter how you ride. They like to suck in moisture.Steve what is protocol for shocks freshened up when they are working as they should and no leaks on these Qs3s?

Thanks good to know about the caps!! I'll check my 2019 and see if its fitted with the new style
Steve, how much fluid do all the shocks hold?
A little less than a quart.Steve, how much fluid do all the shocks hold?
Carver said it was discussed and committed to at the Fox meeting. Then I saw it in SnowTech for the Doos. Hope Cat and Yamaha make the change. Thanks good to know about the caps!! I'll check my 2019 and see if its fitted with the new style

I can vouch for the Amsoil Shock Therapy being MUCH better than the factory oil. Been using it for years. Seems much less susceptible to aeration .
Looks like quality work there

Yes the aeration is way better. As matter of fact customer asked about all the foam in these pics. Like I told him. The foam wont appear until shock is taken apart as long as there is no air in the shock. Crazy how much though. When shaft assembly is pulled almost all the oil is instantly turned to foam. Amsoil might be a little but not even close. I also use Ohlins grease for all O-rings and seals. It helps. Thanks StainI can vouch for the Amsoil Shock Therapy being MUCH better than the factory oil. The amsoil 5w light is a decent oil. Easy to get. I buy 5 gallon pails at a time. What is very important in a good quality shock oil is viscosity index. This allows the oil to remain stable at higher temps. 300 and up is very good. Torco rsf and redline and some others are well over 300. The amsoil 5w is only 210. I use a very thin needle with the old fox caps as to not put such a big hole in them.
I like Amsoil most for its sealing abilities. Ever spill some on floor? What guage needle are you using? Even Carver has had issues especially after 2nd or 3rd time refreshing. Dont make excuses for Fox that cap was a stupid design right from the beginning on the Evols. Surely not as fast to remove and no way of guarantee the Nitrogen wont leak a month from service. You should become a Vendor here and service the Canadian guys. Shipping to here is nuts. The amsoil 5w light is a decent oil. Easy to get. I buy 5 gallon pails at a time.
