We took a beatting...more than 80% of the trails south of montreal are closed for the season..yes even after the 70 centemeters they got..too much water on lakes rivers and under the snow..around montreal is shot..and alot of trails north are closed today till the water drains...no grooming till the temps.drop...Quebec got lots of snow up north..but lots of rain..The weather doesnt look too friendly next week..so if your comming here you better check the trails..If we get rain and warm temps again next week...most of quebec south from Mont tremblant and saint zennon and quebec city will be done..

Thanks for the update! Were looking at getting one more ride in up there. I hope the weather co-operates. Keep me posted!!

Went out yesterday..and its all toast..after this week there will be more than 50% of all trails in quebec will shut...They have started taking out the signage for the trails...only the usual places for spring ridding will be open after the rain this week..too much water everywhere..shall post what is open on wedsday..going north to ride Cabanon-Manwan..and this weekend to mont valin for 5-7 days..then gaspie for mid april..

Where abouts did you ride yesterday? We usually trailer up as high as the cabanon. So it sounds like are season is done!! When are you going to ride cabanon trails?

Maybe tow will post something today. .I hope..but going to call a buddy up at Cabanon.he has a cotage right next to it...will ride there tomorrow..you might have to go north more..but only the weather will tell...but if it stays warm and rain..it just might be toast there too. :o| .we got more rain than you guys..just look south..they got 70 centemeters and my friend rode in the mountains near the border.in deeeeep powder...now its finished..best all year and the end all in one week..the only reason the further north you go..is that there are less lakes and rivers to cross..the water killed us.They even closed the trails in saint donat :o| ..checking today..and calling around to friends to find snow..It even rained above 3000 feet in gaspie..got to go to val dor if you want to see winter..lol..or mont laurier, mont valin or gaspie or l etape..escosimies,manwan..they still have snow.everywhere else its going fast..but will know more by mid week. ;)! .jack

Rode on the trails near rigaud..but they were full of water..and did some water crossings...but put on miles too.. but it was 70% in slush and water..the lake was ok but not along the shore, for sure they will close eveything from saint donat south. :o| :o| ..and that will happen near quebec city if it stays like this all week.they are hurtting too..

This sucks big time it was 2 weeks ago we had the best riding in saint donat/stzenon now all gone to hell!! Time to start waxing the sled lol :o|

Any update? Website says saint donat area good to excellent. Looking at riding there tomorrow.

No problem for the north JRock, it's the very south near home that is shot. Still lot of snow and no dirt but alot of water accumulations and the warm temps on the forecast force the snowmobile clubs to give up for the south.

Very good conditions and alot of snow in the north, near no water accumulations by now. Very good conditions have been reported today.
I will post my sunday ride i the next minutes..

Alain

It was good today..there was no water on the trails..If we can keep cold temps at night the groomers will do their magic..but what a difference from the last ride I made..Tremblant is good and so are most of the trails..but if I were you..go to Cabanon..they do great things with the snow there..trails were hard in the morning..scratchers..but when you hit where there has been a groomer then its great..Some friends from ontario are going from val dor to mont valin..by sled..saw pics today and the trails were like a carpet there. They are in label tonight...chabogamou tomorrow...the snow is soft in the afternoon from the sun..But if the temps stay low..then theres still a few weeks left..Good to hear its still good at cabanon..thanks Tow..( Alain )

Any updates on trail conditions for St.Zenon after the rain last night?? Looks like they updated the saint donat region and have closed that area. They have not updated saint zenon conditions yet. Looking at riding Saturday if possible!!!

I just called Cabanon 2 minutes ago to have the updated info:

They have grommed in wednesday/thursday night when it was frozen, then they had a little rain yesterday with no frost since but the trail are still in good shape from what she said, still alot of snow and no dirt very few slushy spots. They probably won't groom tonight because it won't have time to completely froze the trail base (it was just begin to frost when I called) and with the very low traffic the trails are still in shape.
The forecast is at -12 this night.

In my case, I will probably start my ride from St-Gabriel de Brandon on #345 to St-Zénon/Taureau dam and #360 trail to have a lunch in Riviere-Mattawin at Marineau.

Hope this help...

Alain

P.S. Cabanon phone number if you want to call: 450-884-5762

Whats the latest info for the cabanon trails??? How much snow did they get? Are they still grooming north of the dam like the 360??

Hi JROCK

I don't know how much they received up there but here in the south we received between 2"-3" which, even it's cold, is now reduced to an inch of new stuff .

They update the web page today for the area with the mention "Trails aren't groomed"... I will call there thrusday or friday evening to know if they groom for the week-end or at least when they groomed the last time...

You can contact them directly if you need to plan before... if you do, let us know the output...

Bye
Alain

Hey Alain! I called the cabanon this afternoon and they said they are no longer grooming. They did say trails are good but i get that every time i call. Im sure there was a language barrier but i could not get any answer if trails like the 360 or 318 were in good shape. She said there was some sleds out and the koubec was not so good. They did not comment on any other trails. If you can get some info on those trails that will be great as we are planning on heading up friday after work and saturday!!

Finally, I have no more informations on the grooming. From what I know they probably not grommed after my last report. So I expect good to average trail condition with some ruff spots....

As for logging, there's the #350 trail just infront the Glaciere that have a 3 miles plowed so better choose an alterate path.

I will start tomorroy from the same spot as last week St-Gabriel and go North....

Bye
Alain
