Question on cool guy lights

We have rode everywhere in MI and have passed police on the trail at dusk and they just wave, and the lights he has are blue. The only place we worry is in and around Newberry in the UP.

I rode for 9 years on my SX-R with blue snow-glo's under the boards and passed tons of DNR officers through those years........... Until one guy fresh out of the academy stopped me one evening and politely asked me to turn them off and remove them when I got home. The issue wasn't the lights it was the color, Blue, that we are not allowed to use. I run a red LED on the rear bumper and a pair of amber up front wired to a switch now, GREAT for parking at night on trailside and draw very little power. I hooked them up to a spare ATV battery in the garage and the battery ran them for 9 days!

I can see blue as I dont think anybody is allowed to run blue lights. But I think he might have been mistaken in that you can run red and blue at the same time, thats only cops.

Thanks for the replies guys. I more interested in the lights being there in the even I stop on the trail at night it gives other riders some warning and also gives me some light to do something if needed.

And true story i had these lights on my ntyro and my head lights went out because of a fuse. Well trying riding back without a head lights. Either way these lights were enough to see to go about 10 and when i stopped to let people buy they could see me

I gotta say after installing that kit last night.. its well worth the money! It has everything you need... Well I soldered all mine together and heat shrunk the connections + gasket stuck them on.. But otherwise.. Great kit, and really bright.. I'll grab some pics sometime.

And smaller then in looks in the picture.. I'd say the pods are the length of a quarter or so..

I ran all mine up towards the nose. No need to run a ground back to the battery.. Just use a bolt up front and a ring connector... Then the power wire from the switch will reach the front to a pinch bus (if you get this kit, the orange tabs on the bus are hard to push up, feels like its going to break.. but it will move with some force, don't be shy), and the other switched wire is ran to the battery.. I cut all my wires to length for the most part, and daisy chained them along.. So not a whole lot of extra wires all over the place.

Just picked up a kit on ebay from xk-led

CUSTOM MOTORCYCLE UNDERGLOW ACCENT NEON KIT 60LED

was what it was called... Water proof, and its a pretty complete kit for install... We'll see how they work out.

I wouldn't use those butt splice & Scotch lock connectors in the kit. I would solder and heat shrink all of the electrical connections.
