All the service manual states is to line up the "I" mark on the magneto rotor. Well, I see 4 marks on the magneto rotor. There is one mark all alone. This does not appear to be anywhere near #1 TDC. Then there is a series of 3 marks that look like this: |----| |

On my engine, it looks like the last line in the series of three corresponds to TDC. I'm going to measure TDC with a dial gauge, but wanted to know which of these 4 marks is supposed to be the #1 TDC mark?

Also, it appears when at TDC on the compression stroke, the notches on the cam gears are all parallel (in line) with the top of the head.

And when at TDC on the top of the exhaust stroke, the dots on the cams (which are on the opposite side of the intake and exhaust cam lobes on #1 cylinder) align with the arrows on the cam bearing caps. Is this correct?

Thanks.

Lines of the cam sprockets should line up with top of the head and tic mark in the magneto cover opening give you TDC position.

Line up the II mark with the stator cover pointer.
