Yeah the eBay kit is the copycat kit. He took out the Tapp name and put his own grease in it, resellls it for more.So is the kit on eBay a copycat kit like I suspected it was?
I just joined that Facebook site with my wifes FB account cause I don't have one... Boy are there some complete idiots on there! OMG I swear I just got dumber. I have never seen such incompetence in my life. People are in a world of hurt if they use that site for any kind of credible information. Crazy stuff! No wonder I don't want Facebook! I do like it for the Marketplace however.
And Daves post got deleted because guess who the admin is of Sidewinder Tech on FACEBOOK? The guy selling the kit .
I agree on the ‘dumbness’ of some of the posts there and other sites. I feel our forum here is falling victim to that too unfortunately

Oh that sucks , had no idea he was re-badging and claiming it as his own. I just thought that if the main product is being produced by Dave then he would be still making money from it. This should be an easy fix. Whoever hes buying it from then stop selling it to them.Yeah the eBay kit is the copycat kit. He took out the Tapp name and put his own grease in it, resellls it for more.

Isn't Dave in Canada? So who would be a distributor in the US?
How is TY falling victim?? I have to walk a fine line to allow others to express opinions and at the same time without traffic we don't exist.

There is more integrity in the average third world illage market than there is on FB marketplace. I have to believe its on purpose for FB, they don't really care about anything other than traffic. I have done some okay deals there, including with people on this site but you have to scrutinize everything.

There are a few of us that regularly point people back to TY. The noise level there is so high that its hard to get those posts noticed. I am in the same boat as you, I have to be on FB for work and for a few boards I sit on, otherwise if it dissappeared tomororw I would consider it a positive.

I love this forum! Great place to get subjective...but real world views and opinions from those in the know. I have always seen some of those FB Groups as launch pads for those who are often puppeting their own products and/or cloned mod kits.
I get my real world advice here, and appreciate all of you who share the lingo! Thanks for that everyone.

Huh, I kind of thought I smelled a RAT....
I see lots of names on that FB list of people I have no time for. I hate someone trying to profit from someone else's hard work and effort.
I feel this site of TY to be the best and have the best knowledge base for snowmobiles there is. DooTalk was also decent during those 1200 years, but the 900 forum has taken a step backwards from the 1200 side. People are not educated as well with turbo machines and their operations and I feel thats why this forum is better educated. It's funny that FB is less educated IMO. There is not a whole lot of what I'd call good information over there. Pretty much a real wast of time. Not sure why anyone would even go there myself.

Well I did see that on his Facebook sight after seeing some info here about TD selling the knockout kit, so I asked who's kit are you selling?
He answered that others are selling this kit but it is made by Tapp, and HE adds what he thinks is a superior grease (ceramic). I really never thought that he was stealing anything, just a guy with a shop doing some stuff to get his name and ingenuity out there! Also sells other stuff, like ROV delete, etc! I've mentioned the best site being TY on many of these forums, when people are searching for answers! More should know about THIS site if owning any year Yamaha or YamaCat... This site is just has so many forums with soooo much technical advice, pics and videos for all to see!! VIP membership is where it's at guys and gals!

The best thing about FB is the Marketplace for buying and selling. It seems to work better because you can screen their profile and location. If I see something fishy I steer clear. I hardly ever go to Craigslist anymore. There are a few of us that regularly point people back to TY. The noise level there is so high that its hard to get those posts noticed. I'm done doing business with Mr. AK, and I will be removing his "playing card" logo sticker from my sled as soon as I can get to it. Currently a 4 hour drive each way. I may even burn the sticker for good measureYeah the eBay kit is the copycat kit. He took out the Tapp name and put his own grease in it, resellls it for more.
