i am about to mount a ski doo Spring mounted scratcher on the rails of my new 129 sw.
If the end of the scratcher is close to the rubber block on the rail should I be concerned that the high rollers could hit it when compressed? I know technically it is made to collapse that far, but in reality does it
To fit it on that rail i I'll have to lose the rear idler wheels, and it is still close to that bumper.
Any insight would be helpful

I have wire scratchers on my 129 also. There are little options on that short skid to mount scratchers. Yes, the upper idler will contact the scratcher on full compression when the scratchers are not deployed. I have yet to find a solution. But after 4K miles, nothing seems to be damaged yet. I think the scratcher flexes a bit when the wheel hits it. So I haven’t tried too hard to find a better option. But I’m still searching ...

I looked at it closer today and there is no way that ski doo part can avoid the area where the high rollers may interfere. I could move the mounting area to the front of the skid but there are cut outs on the rail that preclude this.
Question - are the traditional rail mounted spring steel scratchers able to mount in behind an idler wheel. Or does the mount piece stick out too far?
There is an area just behind my front, outer idlers that it could be fastened, and the scratcher would hang on rail well in front of the area the high roller effects.

I mounted mine thru those cut outs in rails. I got some one inch aluminum stock and cut it to span a couple of the cut outs. I used a piece behind the rail and on front of rail and run quarter inch stainless bolts thru the cutouts with washers filling the void in the cutouts. I mounter the scratchers to the clamp system. But in all honesty running the cable type scratchers up on the skis works better IMO.

Yes, they can just barely squeak in behind an idler wheel. I had mine mounted the same way.I looked at it closer today and there is no way that ski doo part can avoid the area where the high rollers may interfere. Thanks for confirming.
I liked the idea of the ski doo scratcher but with so many cut outs on the rail, and it being short, there are virtually no options to mount it.
I like the longer scratchers but you have to watch reverse. I have snapped and bent a few scratchers in the past. Cost of doing business I guess.

Yes, video received.
Where did you get the relocator for the wheel mount? I looked at the catalogue but couldn't make it out.
This makes a ton of sense. Nice job.

X2.
My first pair of scratchers EVER!! Ski mounted cable scratchers work really nice for cooling. I run DuPont sliders, so do not need them for lube, just for cooling purposes. Only negative with them would be “They also scratch gravel and spit it onto the sled. Know what I mean?

Thanks KRM.
The area that butts into the rail looks like a pretty small diameter. Is it able support the load of the wheel?
Is there a washer and lock washer on the other side with the nut?
