Without spending $600 on an aftermarket seat, has anyone figured out a good way to raise the seat level 3-4"?
I had more foam stuffed into my 03 Rx that made a little difference. I would love to be able to do something like Cat has to offer with those seat wedges. Any thoughts?

take it to an upholster and he can add a piece of vinyl along the bottom edges and add firm foam to the top to get it up for you. Lot less then buying one for $600.
Too bad they didn't have a kit out to use the old frame. Just foam and a new cover anyone can staple on. The back storage compartment makes it tricky though but I would think that can be worked out.

I dont know about 2 to 3 inches, but i raised my 07 apex seat 1 inch with no problem. I believe after doing it myself you could stretch cover at least 2 inches. You'll be surprised how much 1 inch made a huge diference in seating position. Here's how i did this mod. Remove staples from front to back but stopping just before storage area.Pull cover back and lift foam up and insert stiffer foam( i used 1" blue board)under stock foam.Theres a flat spot under foam on seat about 1' x 1' that you can put new foam on.Put another piece on 45 degree front part of seat. Pull cover tight and staple from back to front.Make sure you get same depth staples as stock so they dont go through cover.I have no experiece in this and it turned out fantastic. You would never know i did any mod to the seat.It did raise seat at tank, but is fine, just a little higher than stock. My knees are now at less than 45 degree bend, just what i was looking for.I got the idea after taking measurements on my brother in laws 09 tnt ski-doo.From footwells to bars and footwells to seat about middle of seat. The doo was about 2"taller at all measurements. Now my apex is within maybe half inch of his.

TJRTX,
I will try what you described. I am 6'5" and if I can get 2" and keep the top of the seat that would be great.

If you look under the hottest apex photos I think a guy added a ton of padding under his original seat. It looked like the short bus but I guess he really liked it.

seat redone
I had my seat raised on my Apex about 4" and what a difference it makes, the sitting to standing is very natural now, but remember that you will have to add a riser for the bars as they will hit your knees, I had the Rox 2" riser originally but found that the 5" riser is best combo with 4" taller seat. Also remember that the tall riser (5") will need longer throttle cable, but was able to make due with the stock brake hose with this setup. When you get the seat recovered have them use the denser foam which is still soft but not too soft, also have them put the seat gripper material on the top and part way down the side so you won't be sliding around on the seat. I had the regular seat material at first but wasn't satisfied with it and had the seat gripper material added to the top. I will post some pics of the new seat so you can judge the out come your self.

I did forget to mention i have a 2" rox riser on my bars. I liked how they felt for standing, but were a little high for sitting. Now with seat raised it relaxed my arms so much more. Its a perfect fit for me.For taller guys like you it might take more of a riser. For a 2" riser there is no need for any cable modifications.Good luck.

Here is a real good article I read the other day on "updates" to make to a 2006 Attak-- including raising the seat.

I just had a frame made and put a bicycle seat post on. Mountain bike seat 4” higher no issues.Without spending $600 on an aftermarket seat, has anyone figured out a good way to raise the seat level 3-4"?
