That demonstration says it all. And on a work sled we can't put a left hand throttle on these either.
Backs up what ClutchMaster, myself and a bunch of others have been trying to say all along. HP wins all day over TQ.
TQ is the force applied, HP does the work. As long as you have a wide power band with high RPM HP you will have a fast machine. More HP and RPM = more wins.
Big TQ will NOT do the work.
Harleys are slow and multi cylinder ricers put it to them all day long. Low RPM hi-TQ Harley will need twice the displacement to compete, just look at NHRA rules. It's not rocket science!
Bingo! Another example, AMA Supercross. When they made the switch from two to four displacement went up from 125 and 250 to 250 and 450

Dan try doing like in the video with the throttle with Bens latest TD 210 tune .Not many out there ,but i have it and if you try doing like in the video with your sled in the shop ,or where ever ,it's taking off .I'd say Dave has it figured out also .NEW Vid....Skip ahead to 7:14....yes its a horrible throttle system period.

Nice effort, doo, but really...the look still quacks me up!!lol!
I see that Doo only had 111mph top speed on dream meter. So what would that be GPS?

105 out of 150 HP with not even close clutching stk.I see that Doo only had 111mph top speed on dream meter. So what would that be GPS?

High torque at the part of the power curve where high horsepower is, can be likened to Santy Claus or the Tooth Fairy - there's no such thing!
And yet the 998T makes 128ft/pds torque at 6500 and holds it all the way to 8800 still making 122ft/pds 204 peak hp. So does that make the 998T imaginary?

You need to just go away and stay away. You are one of these know-it-all’s that really just likes to blab on and on about nothing just to make yourself look knowledgeable, and every time you open your mouth #*$&@ falls out and you prove you are not.
You are only impressing yourself here, anyone with a brain can see right thru the ramblings of pure stupidity.
Let it go dude! You haven’t a clue.
I like how you have joined the name calling belittling group for a second time. I once stood up for you when you where called some nasty names. I am rethinking that right now. I don't think I will or have to go away but I like how you think I do. Nothing I have said is wrong or has been proven wrong. In fact all the articles posted have supported what I have said. But I guess we have moved away from the TY that had varying opinions and discussion was possible to one of you need to go away and satay away. To a your a know it all but your stupid post, lets not forget the sqawsnatch and the pink slit comment. They were top notch. Yep TY has changed! Funniest thing is the Sidewinder proves my point and the biggest nay Sayers ride them. LMAO!

The torque continues to fall(128-122) as the horsepower climbs - as per your numbers used here. That IS the very definition of horsepower. And yet the 998T makes 128ft/pds torque at 6500 and holds it all the way to 8800 still making 122ft/pds 204 peak hp. So does that make the 998T imaginary?

And again you have never really read anything I said. The Harley comment was started this and yes a metric bike will win out in the end but a Harley will pull your arms out off the line.
So more Torque X RPM = more hp you need more then RPM to make HP. Increase Torque at any rpm and you increase hp. 998T proves that 6500 128 torque peak hp 122 torque Nice flat torque curve. As the article said sleds (unlike Harleys eg) like to move the torque peak closer to the peak hp and make use of a broader torque band, again the 998T proves this well. As does the Apex with a very broad torque band and near max torque at peak hp. Oh but wait what I said was wrong again. There is no torque at peak hp, somehow rpm did it all by itself

One, I never called you anything but a know it all.
Two, again you don’t know when to quit and give it up.
Three, TQ is a force, HP DOES THE WORK!
Give it up already!

All I can say is WOW!
Your original post was “torque pulls your arms out”
We have tried over and over to explain the true relationship of torque and rpm. It’s not that hard too understand you need both torque and rpm, they share an equal roll in the horsepower equation. (It’s proven science)
You stated earlier that “Torque is King”
Well you were wrong.
Horsepower is king, and you’ve been changing you stance, contradicting yourself and causing confusion.
A real man will admit when he is wrong,
Torque is really nothing without rpm.
Horsepower is the combination of both.....
You all are right. Squatch is talking about the math and the rest are talking about the results.

Shagnos, is your friend as awesome as you?Ya.....friend of mine has 2 top of the line Tesla’s. Runs 10’s, max torque @ 0 rpm. Think he was getting 1.4 60 ft times. Technology.
