There is no such thing as an engine with torque climbing as it approaches maximum HP, yet that is where ANY machine will be fastest when clutched or geared to.
Even the Harley reference is simply false.
Let's look at an example.
A 2011 HD Street Glide makes maximum torque of 86.6 @ 3400
It makes maximum HP of 68.6 @ 4900
So, over the spread of 1500 RPM, torque fell substantially from 86.6 to under 70, yet HP kept climbing.
What does this mean? It means that this Harley, no matter the weight, and no matter the transmission type, would be faster when the peak HP numbers where targeted for shifting, which also means the 'pull on your arms would be greater'.
I don't know how I, or any one else here can lay the facts out any more clearer, but please lets move on.
Sometimes people tend to focus on the irrelevant, the inconsequential, and the just plain outright-loopy, and your ability to twist the numbers and facts up worse than a pretzel is a prime example of this tendency.
Never said torque climbs at peak hp, it falls off followed by hp. Sidewinder makes max torque around 6000 of 128 makes 122 at 8800 and peak 204hp. At 9100 torque is 118 and hp drops to 200 past that torque falls like a stone and so does hp, so it all about the motor and application. So you are arguing then that torque does pull your arms out but hp pulls more? I made a statement and some objected, then when they did not not understand the math they insulted and belittled, then they tried to twist everything around all because and I'll say it again "add torque at any rpm and hp increases". Whether or not my ability to explain myself is lacking one would have to have a mind open enough to try. So which of these are you?

WRONG. Quicker ET clutching to HP RPM as long as you have the belt grip and traction, which is hard to pull off on a snowmobile and most people have no clue how to do it so they think what you just said is true. Hence the squatch trying to blab the BS he blabs.
And what BS was that?

It’s useless to argue, I did not even read his entire post. It’s all BS
Yep I believe that and I can tell by your posts, but what would one thing of a guy who thinks the 900T is a twin yet he argues as if he knew all about it. LOL!

I see over on dootalk that the 900t clutch springs have been breaking, the steering freezes up and relays freeze up also but at least they might have figured out how to make the reverse work finally. Even with the 4 stroke in a ski doo, they are still a piece of s%#*.This is the problem with the Sidewinder. All cat but the engine. We can't blame all the issues on Cat though. The once best clutch in the industry is now pretty much the worse.

This one explains it best I have found. Squatch these guys you are arguing with are all about acceleration and top speed. Pulling a sleigh full of wood or smooth acceleration means very little to them. A Winder or a Apex are not about work they are about speed and acceleration. Let it go.

I didn’t know anything about the 900t motor when I saw the video. It sounded like a twin cylinder too me?Yep I believe that and I can tell by your posts, but what would one thing of a guy who thinks the 900T is a twin yet he argues as if he knew all about it. LOL!
I researched it and looked at bore and stroke. This told me all I needed to know as far as it being a high performance motor, it’s not.
Here’s a performance motor, 4g63, 2.0 liter long rod, filled block, double o-ring head and block, I made the exhaust manifold and do all my own engine assembly, valve job and port work, 1000hp, built and tuned 100% by me.
I’m not as incompetent about motors as your portraying.
Thanks for giving me a reason to showcase my work tho

and if you go to this page they tell you flat out that there is absolutely nothing but Ski Doo's word that this engine is what they say it is. Even go so far as to say we will all have to see when the season is over lmfo sounds like Payola to me. wonder how much BRP has to pay them to print whatever they say.

Every single year, every new doo is touted as the best ever, like the previous year, but then they say how the previous year had issues....every year. Best in class, best hypersled, best touring.....it's all BS. And then they say most distributed or whatever magazine. I get them free with the NYSSA magazine.http://www.supertraxmag.com/ask-motorhead/how-will-the-e-tec-850-hold-up/n3096

I called them out a few years ago under one of their articles, accusing them of favoring the brands that spend the most advertising dollars.Every single year, every new doo is touted as the best ever, like the previous year, but then they say how the previous year had issues....every year. I'll try to find that article sometime.

And then the brothers Lester and Jester, fake argue supposed benefits of each choice...too bad the lemmings who subscribe to the fallacy that the leader in sales volume makes the best products. I doubt Lexus, Mercedes, Rolls Royce etc, lose much sleep over not being tops in sales, in any category, or overall.I called them out a few years ago under one of their articles, accusing them of favoring the brands that spend the most advertising dollars.

We all know TY members have higher IQ’s than your average riders, were not falling for the “Best in class handling, Best in class ride quality, Best in class torque, Best in class hand warmers, ect.”
People with weak minds fall for that....
Meanwhile....I’ve heard riding a Ski-Doo cures cancer.
