Regular 87 (10% ethanol) vs Premium 91+ (ethanol free)

Seafoam is a great cleaner, very strong. But it's very corrosive to rubber material, dries out o-rings and fuel rubber fuel lines. It's such a good cleaner it removes the natural and added oils to these rubber parts when in contact with them over time. Also seafoam does NOTHING for ethanol in fuel and does NOTHING to prevent phase separation.. Here is a video with Seafoam, Startron, and B3C Mechanic in a Bottle. It's a bit long, but the proof is in the video..Seafoam and Startron suck..

If you store the sled with non ethanol gas it all becomes moot. I'd love to try MIB but not sold in Canada so sea foam it is. I also run it through the engine oil as well every couple years. It is a cleaner and so is ethanol. Older vehicles can be damaged by either but everything built since the RX have no compatibility problems Im aware of. My dads old chainsaw stopped running and when he took it all apart the pickup tube in the tank had melted (don't know how else to describe it) from ethanol fuel. My 1968 Dodge has a new Eidelbrock Carb on it and newer ethanol compatible hoses where needed. I have put sea foam through that as well. I burn 91 in the old girl but in the olden days 93 was high test. The 1966 Ford 428 I had it was wrote on the aircleaner 101 octane only!

Very Interesting video, thanks for posting.
I always use seafoam for cleaner and Lucas ethanol treatment for the ethanol, which he would have used straight gas and tryed Lucas also. Thanks again.

I sell it where I work, Im the one recording in the video, that would be my boss speaking.. we sell everything from 2oz bottles to 55gal drums and everything in between. I'm not a vendor on here so I cant sell you the product per site rules, I just dont like to see people buy something that does not work and actually causes problems.. I found a place withing 10mi of Standish, MI that sells it..Im sure they have the normal 4,8, and 24oz bottles. Give them a call..

I use the MIB (mechanic in a bottle) for long term storage and a once a year fuel system cleaning, during the season I run B3C Engine Energy with every fill up, the EE has cylinder cooling properties, can drop your engine temps up to 30*, protects from ethanol, and has a performance additive. My sled had way better throttle response, and idles super smooth..

If you have any questions feel free to ask..

All you seafoam fans, you can do a cool and quick little science experiment.. DO THIS OUTSIDE take an empty soda can, flip it upside down, so bottom is up..pour a cap full of seafoam in it..then put a drop or 2 of water in the seafoam..you will see it stays separate just like water and oil..now light it on fire and stand back a few feet..Think of that can as the top of your piston and you just filled up on a snowy day.. I have some pics of this test and the same test with MIB, but pics dont do it justice.

Single can burning like a grease fire is seafoam with 2 drops of water. the pic with both cans is the MIB with 2 drops of water, burns clean and has a consistent candle like flame no splater because the MIB had blended the water evenly through the liquid rather than a glob of it. the last pic is the aftermath, notice all the splatter around the seafoam can, the MIB can has no splatter, and actually leaves lubricant behind as it burns.

forgot these two pics..the ink on the bottom of a can is carbon based, and pretty difficult to remove, even seafoam cant do it without some scrubbing, MIB removes the carbon ink instantly.. also both pics have 2 drops of water in them..clearly visable in the seafoam, blended evenly with the MIB..

When I start burning straight sea foam then I'll worry! Have you tried the test with a cap of ethonal gasoline?

Mechanic in a bottle works great I've been using it for a couple years now since I saw your post about it !

I've had pump motors with visible water in the tank and motor about to die. I poured sea foam in the tank and instantly the motor smoothed out and ran perfect!
One thing I have run in to is people do nothing all season till storage than put sea foam in. It cleans all storage season long and when carbed motor's are first started the sludge from cleaning plugs the pilot jets. Make sure you run some in season also so you have a clean fuel system coming in to storage season

when you start your sled, you are burning straight ethanol/water/seafoam, hence the sour smell..look at it like this, seafoam has been around for ever correct?? now all of a sudden it treats ethanol problems too. It never said that on older cans...They are just trying to jump on the band wagon. It does nothing to prevent phase separation, it actually speeds it up..Thats why the bottles are all cloudy in the video, the fuel, seafoam, ethanol, and water molecules are all fighting against each other, the do not want to bond..The 100% fully synthetic B3C MIB bonds all the unhappy molecules together to burn evenly rather than the glob of #*$&@ at the bottom of your tank..

here is a short video of the burn test, lots of black smoke out of the other two, none out of the b3c

because seafoam has a high volume of alcohol in it..

X2! MIAB is about the only "snake oil" gas additive that I have found to work. And it works well!
