i have a mig r1 exhuast pipe that i want to put on the fx. what is the best way to get the exhuast off so i can cut and weld?
never mind, that was a lot easier then i thought.
do you think i will need a power commander with the R1 exhuast? and who sells them?

I dont think that you do. People have put on all kinds of different exhaust and I have never hear of it.

There is a post where one of the members explains how to adjust the factory injection richer or leaner.I am not sure how big the range is AFR wise but it sure helped me on the bottom end where I was rich from the factory(something your pipe might cure).

You dont have to have anything with the exhaust you put on. But there could even be power loss without any other changes. Maybe that is OK for you since you said it is way loud now. If thats all you were looking for than thats great. Otherwise if you are looking for more gains then I would look into Pat Haucks Programmer or visit with Ulmer Racing. I have the Get r Done kit and can already testify to the results as results from a radar gun out of the highway patrol> lol at least it was a friend in the car!
Not to mention against a buddys stock FX. This winter I will be going with the kit from Ulmer. I would feel comfortable in dealer with either. Hopefully you can get the info you are looking for. Also, some that would be interested in the exhaust you put on, would sure appreciate some sound bytes.

yea i was only home for the weekend, the home depot didnt have sheet aluminum so its all coming apart next weekend to seal the holes. i will see if my bro will take some pics and a sound clip. it sounds good.
when we picked up the sled and gave it full throttle it spit some black smoke. that means rich right?
also i would like to make some power gains with it, i want to get a power commander and tune it, also im waiting for a K&N filter kit or maybe custom fab something myself.
i mounted it so it sticks out 10 inches from the bottom of the tail light, so you can see the end of the pipe, the mig emblem and the tip. the tip points almost straight out, and the whole thing is dead center of the sled. it looks awesome IMO
i think i shed close to 20lbs, the stock exhaust is sooo heavy!
