My sled bounces off the rev limiter everytime i go wot. And it keep hitting it till i get going like 50. Is this normal?

Any aftermarket clutching or clutching changes? Should be an easy fix with a bit of clutching, not sure how to do it myself though.

I bet it only needs a bit of clutching, someone else will have to help you out with that though.

yeah, throw some weight in your front clutch. about 3 dollars worth of rivets and 15 minutes of wrenching and you will have it taken care of.

DO it quick, you keep hitten rev limiter you'll stretch rod and blow motor! I thought the rev limiter was savin me but do it to much your askin for problems.

if you know how to add weihts and how much that is cheapest if your like me and don't know ulmer clutch kit comes with weight already installed on new pieces set up for your weight and everything detailed instructions so kit is like 160 get new weights and spring can be installed yourself

ya, KEEP IT OFF THE LIMITER...... I just got my sled back with a new engine under warrenty, from a broken rod. Get the RPM's down to 11,200. The MTX come from the factory setup for High altitude, you need to add atleast a 13.3 steel rivet in each hole, and with Excell exhaust I would probably go straight to a 13.3 steel on the inside and a 17.2 on the outer hole. This is what I run on my MTX with a Skinz Ultra silencer and a 19 tooth upper gear. It puts me at 11,100-11,400 on trails and 10,800 lugging in deep snow. Your giving up 3-4hp running at or near the rev limiter, these engines make 80hp from 10,900-11,500 so anywhere in there is the sweet spot, power drops off pretty quick after 11,500.

The power drops off a bunch. This confirmed by two different professsional sources. I sure wish though that I could get my hands on a real dyno run chart (stock motor). This would show the torque, HP and their given RPM levels. If someone at there has them. post it!!!!

wow my seld does the same thing, i have no exhaust no clutching, all stock and as soon i go wot it hits the rev limiter, too bad i just wasted 700$ at my dealer because i would of bought an exhaust and clutch kit

Well you call Ulmer or Schmidt bros for a kit.If you want to try stock you remove the 3 weights in the primary and then drill and punch out the stock rivets that are in each weight.Start with the one at the tip. Then you go to Yamaha dealer and get the heaviest weight rivets they have and put them in.My stock weights already had alot of weight stock so wouldnt be enough to get the rpms down almost 7-800rpm.Ulmers weights did and all 3 holes were open so when I did mods and had to get rpms down again I just added rivets.Very convenient and nice not having to mess with figuring out what to run.

I have told people this a hundred times and I will say it again...

If your warp coils are out of phase with the plasma inducers you will have problems.

You may now proceed to curse at me.... ;) L-O-L

That's funny.

The cure to your problem is to move to Michigan (with our weather). It's currently 50 Deg and raining. We are supposed to get about an inch of rain and all I can think about is how much snow that would be.
