reverse actuator alert!!!!!!

One of the issues here is the loctite applied at the factory. My screws were very tight to turn just to overcome the locite, even to unscrew them. So hard to turn that almost all of the torque was being used to overcome the loctite, no real feel for how tight the screws were holding the actuator in position.

Just an fyi
I did try it in the sled. Thats how i know it did not work.
I also tried it out of the sled by powering it with a 12 volt battery. It still would not work
So It absolutely will cause the actuator not to work.
In the first picture you can see a small plunger sticking out the bottom of the actuator.
This plunger should be recessed back into the actuator about 1/4 inch.
This plunger dropped into the wrong location and caused the actuator motor to lock up.
I removed the motor metal cover and while turning it was able to pulled the rotor/commutator up off of the brushes.
I then jb welded the rubber stopper and pin assembly that fell out back into the end of the actuator.
It is working pretty good.
I will test it in the sled tomorrow

That is why I said yours is failed. It will work holding it in your hand and pushing the reverse button

I installed it in the sled tonight and its working perfectly.
Tried reverse/forward about 10 times.
No issues at all.
Not to thrilled about the damage done by my (emergency back up) dealer, but the fix looks solid and it should get me through the weekend.

REVERSE ACTUATOR BOLT HOLE REMEDY. My kids 2014 Viper started to show signs of this issue. I JB Welded the cracks but also made a 1/8" piece of stainless that looks like exactly like the bolt pattern. If you bolt this on last, it will push on the entire mechanism instead of just the bolt holes. We found this as sled would not go into reverse after sitting all summer. DONT THROW OUT THE ACTUATOR. They can be rebuilt. Will try and post a procedure to rebuild the motors soon. Not actually re-building, just cleaning the carbon off the commutator of the DC reversible motor. Takes 10 minutes, and his is now working perfectly.

Nice fix with the plate!
