This weekend, my wife's 07 Vector started "beeping" like it was going in reverse while we were going down the trail. I could pop it into reverse, then back into forward and the noise would stop, then start again weakly and gradually build to full volume. I pulled the wires on top of the linkage that ran to the alarm speaker so she would want to kill herself from listening to that the whole day! Mechanically, everything is fine...anyone else have this problem and/or know how to solve it?

Switch is sticky, likely because of water getting in there and freezing. My buddies RX-1 does this and he ends up just unplugging the switch every year when it starts doing this.

Yeah, the switch is easy to see and to get to. It's a mechanical switch with a plunger that gets depressed by the linkage.
