Does anyone else have this issue? Every once in a while hitting the reverse button does absolutely nothing. I have to turn off the ignition and start again and it will function.

I have seen it happen both from drive to reverse , and when in reverse trying to get to drive.

They are very touchy POS really... hit the button, it lights up reverse but is like in "neutral" (does nothing)- I just rocked it side to side and clicked in.
A dealer told me it's not lining up the splines all the time.

My neighbor did a 'lil service work along with chaincase oil & tightened the chain tension up some, it goes into forward/ reverse much better now.

I'm aware of that issue... Apparently that's a belt height on the secondary thing.

I'm talking light doesn't change at all.

PS. When are my a arm bushings gonna be ready? (in case you missed it in other thread :p)

Oh you just got a shity phazer then :tg:

I did miss the bushing post, where was it?
Will find out tomorrow about getting some, got your # & will text.

I have the extended warranty , so think I'll try and make them change my little console unit.

whichever thread you said you got them for $27 rather than the $75 I was about to pay ulmers :)

reverse

I have the same problem when I run my belt too tight. Try adding a shim to the converter.

hi mtotguy , are you refering to the blinking light not locking in issue, or the light not changing at all.

Reverse

The light would blink but reverse would not lock in.

thought so :) but yeah, my light sometimes doesn't blink at all. it happened again last night. kill ignition, restart, works.

My 07 GT has done the same intermitently. I have the updated belt and secondary shim but sometimes when I press the reverse button nothing happens - no light, no buzzing. Whenever I test the reverse it always works - just never when I need it!

I hope someone has an answer.

Mine does it once in a while. Sometimes it's the idle that's high, sometimes it's when the fan is running. It's as if the pcm will not allow anything non-essential to run, such as hand warmers and reverse, from drawing power since the fan is such a high draw. There have been others that have had issues with the throttle position sensor causing this.

so not just a simple matter of replacing the little box then, probably something I should make them look at during the spring, before my YES plan runs out
