I know there's all kinds of discussions about this, but I can't find this issue in the write ups. I have everything on, I followed the steps to place evrything correctly and it slid in nicely. Now I'm attaching my reverse linkage to th reverse handle. So to get th linkage on, I have the handle in reverse. Now I try to put it in forward, no go! So I went over and spun th clutch, and yes the shaft spins in reverse like it should. Now why won't it go in forward. I did not start the sled to try. When I try just pulling the linkage with my hands, it seems that the fork inside is hitting on something, not allowing it to come in forward. Sorry for all the talk. I'll try to get pics but not sure if I can do it from my iPad.

Something is wrong. Did you have the shifter in reverse when you slid cover back on?
Just did mine last weekend. When I was putti g cover back on I had lever In forward and. Lifted shift fork and shaft upwards about half Inch above where it would be in forward. And then once covers on it pops on

Sounds like yours is in reverse to line up so it should be in forward. Take cover off and repeat. Only a couple bolts

Now try explaining what you did to make it work...it's just one of those things...fail, repeat, fail, repeat, fail, repeat and then voila! It slips right in.
