Ride or Bust...Apex XTX rides terrible even with Star Kit.

I run a 2015 Apex XTX. I put fox float 3s on front and put the M10 Air 144" on the back. Absolutely love the ride and handling. My buddies that run the r-motion renegade and procross 137 say my setup is amazing. I would keep your current reliable sled and upgrade to M10 suspension. If you got the extra cash throw fox float 3s on the front.

Would you mind posting some pictures of your sled? I'd like to see what it looks like!

Hmm the Venture style one is interesting swap, I was never blown away by the Mono on his attak, my uncle also has a vector ltx and it rides oook.

Got to Demo a Polaris Pro-S Switchback, the ride was impressive. Actually a bit soft for my liking I had a couple big whoops feel like it was bottoming out. I think the skid would be very compliant in small bumps and shutters, fit and finish is no where near the Yamaha and the vibrations are also a lot more evident but need some more miles to really tell.

Make sure your front cross shaft isn't mounted upside Down and hitting shock dealer installed friends wrong way after revalve and it rode terrible.

I will get him to check the shaft, I have been meaning to post some pictures.

Thanks for the reply!, Is your M10 a W2 set up with the live axle? Any Pictures? Also where did you get the skid in Ontario or did you go direct from Fast?

Yes, it has the live axle. I got skid right from Fast. In the off season you can usually get a discount. I will post a few pictures later this week. Not around sled for a few days.

Here's a picture of front floats and rear skid. I haven't removed the old mounting brackets yet just in case I didn't like the skid. If you want to see any other pictures lmk what you want to see.

I also love the Float 3s up front on my 2016 XTX. Have the same front bumper as you also. Did you notice any top speed loss going with the M10, as compared to the stock skid?

I haven't noticed any speed loss. What I did notice is a lot less rolling resistance when taking off. The approach angle is nicer on the M10 in my opinion.

Very nice looking set up! , are you running an on board compressor? Also are you running studs? If not does it look like there is adequate clearance between track and ex-up for studs?

Not running compressor. I'm not convinced that they are hassle free. I am running studs but the stock protectors are not sufficient. About 3/8 needs to be added to protect ex-up and a good 5/8 is needed to protect rear exchanger.

The stud clearance is an issue on all apex sleds with exup valve. If you stud a newer apex you have to add to the height of the tunnel protectors. I believe Hartman makes strips that pop rivet directly to factory protectors. I have been running the air compressor on my warrior since 08. Rode the first year with the hand pump and as NS has said it is a pain to stop and have to change pressures. Granted I have the M20 which uses a larger volume of air.

The only trouble I've had in 3 seasons with a compressor, is the external check valve tends to freeze at night. They can also break if you over tighten fittings into the head. Otherwise, the benefits of on-the-fly adjustability is well worth the time to install it. If you're worried about pump failure, add a tee with a schrader valve in-line to the compressor so you have the means of using a hand pump without having to break out the wrenches on the trail.

I bought my compressor online for $65 and plumbed everything myself.

Here's my gauge with tee and backup schrader valve.

I just took another picture of stud protector mod. The biggest problem I find is they are mounted with a c-bracket in the mid section. I used a piece of old slider material and tie straped it in the c-bracket to prevent them from bending when track hits protectors. With this mod you only have to add 5/8 to rear 8-10 inches of protectors.

What brand, model etc. did you use for your compressor?
