Riding across the border

No Prob crossing here, either way,New Brunswick into Maine or vice Versa, can obtain a day trail permit at multiple places on a weekend if needed.Trails in NB are patrolled quite severely, you will be fined without a Trail Pass.As for the High Fuel cost, figure on $4.00/Gal US,unless your in Northern NB 100 miles from nowhere, theres a couple spots that have to charge an extra $.50/Gal to have it Trucked in,and yes, its Supreme, and the Loop is not Do-able without carrying Fuel or Filling up.Serpentine Lodge,or Governors,Northern NB,Canada.

In northern Minnesota you can cross into Canada in many places that do not have checkpoints. All you need is a CANPASS remote area border crossing permit and your drivers licence. You also will need a trail pass if you use their trail system. You certainly do not want to get caught without these as there are serious fines and consequences.

Yes but be advised that its only for remote areas, example lake of the woods pigeon river, if there is a port near by you must report to the port. Also if you have a passenger they must also have a RABC and if they do not driver is responsible and the sled will get seized.

I assume you need an Ontario trail pass if you cross over. Is there a cheap 1 day pass you can get if you cross over for a few hours? We ride up in the Boundary Waters a few times but have never rode up into Canada.

I believe there are temp passes check the OFSC website. It has been awhile since I lived and rode in Ontario.

Yes there are temporary passes (that leave you temporarily bankrupt). 3 days = $75 and 1 week = $140

I am sure that the fine for getting caught riding on their trails without a trail pass is substantially more. From what I have heard they do an excellent job of maintaining their trails so that helps take some of the sting out of the cost.

I have always said that I would pay 3 or 4 times what I pay per year here in MN if they would actually use the extra money to do a better job of maintaining the trails!
