I know you are not suppose to ride double on my 2008 FX Nytro, but my wife goes with me once a year on a short trip where we ride no more than 100 miles. Has anyone rode double on the stock seat and if so how did it ride. This would be only on groomed trails at very slow speeds. I can not justify a two-up sled.

A buddy came out on the back of my MTX last year after his sled broke down. If it's once a year for a hundred miles, I wouldn't give it a second thought. Tell her to hold on and "give er"

I did it last year one time...it wasn't too bad. Since you already have the Nytro, you know that it doesn't absorb the small bumps, unless you are going so fast that you blast over them. It will be a bumpy ride, but if you are only going once a year then you should be good.

The seat is not bad, there was plenty of room.

Depends on the size of your passenger.

I have my 9 year old with me most of the time on my Nytro, and there have been zero problems except for he can't see what is directly in front of us. Knees get pushed up on the panels cause I am so far forward, but anytime I can have my son ride with me is a good trail ride.

I doubled my wife for a whole day and it wasn't bad at all. I cranked my spring up and it worked good. Tell her to hold on it wheelies really awesome with a passenger. lol

I had a buddy that broke down and had to ride mandem on my Nytro. We are both about 180 lbs. I found that it bottomed a bit and was harder to steer. The seat gives just enough room though.

Mudder; doubled your wife? There's so many ways to follow-up on that line.

Last season I gave a buddy a ride after his Cat died 60-miles out. The experience did show me how much driving a Nytro depends on throwing your weight around. With two on the sled it seemed angry at every turn. The fact you have to pull the handlebars into your lap when you’re all scrunched up doesn’t help the situation either. If anyone can ride two-up with their wife for 100-miles, they have way more patience than me – and a stronger marriage.

Thinking about the same thing today ... room for a child on the back. If the exhaust had dumped under the tunnel (which would be much better) then Yam could have developed an optional seat extension for the odd time you need 2 up.

Last year I had the fortunate experience to "double" rancidjo when his viper's chaincase blew up.

Now - picture this. Two adult males, rider 200 lbs, passenger 300 lbs.
trails hadn't been groomed all week as the groomer was #$%@. Last day of a week long trip and it was no kidding -30C. We met up with Reaper earlier that day and had been riding since 10:00am It is now near midnight and we were colder than you know what. It was a b!tch to keep the skis planted and we bottomed out over every little mole hill.
The sh!ttiest ride I have EVER been on and we had to ride at least 20-30 miles back to the cabin. I swear every time we bottomed out I thought something was gonna break!!

Can it be done, YES. Will it be pleasant? Probably not, but if it's only 100 miles a year, GIVE'R.

LMFAO...that was indead the worst snowmobile ride I have ever been on...funny blueballer kept blipping the throttle so I would have to hang on tighter all the time...wonder what was up with that...if i can fit my fat #*$&@ on behind a rider I am sure your wife will be fine (but maybe not fun) behind there for a 100mi or so....i am sure glad no one saw us that night...lol

heh couch if it really is important to ya check out the undertunnel exhaust and seat on mountainmod.com,,i did'nt purchase it for double riding but it sure is alot nicer than stock set-up, you cover in the top of the tunnel with supplied precut aluminum and the seat has alot of extra storage.
the whole setup takes of about 20lbs,,but its a bit on the pricey side,,sounds awesome,,but he misses may not be a fan off that

I take the wife out once in awhile, no probs here. Then again my fiance is asian and tiny haha.
