Has anyone had any issues with their roll over valve tether getting caught in tight trees or otherwise coming off when it wasn't wanted to?
I was talking with a buddy about getting a tether and he was saying that he quit using his on his cat because it kept killing the engine at the wrong time. Sometimes causing a bad stuck.

I wont ride without one, and I've never had my come off when its not supposed to. Very Cheap insurance.

After seeing what happened to Wolfone's beautiful sled and all the other videos on youtube with runaway sleds. Wolfone actually had a tether on his sled but a freaky circumstance lead to his disaster
. You can read about that in a earlier post from him in this forum.
I am glad i have one on my sled. I have more problems with hitting my kill button because i have not disconnected it then i ever have with my tether getting pulled off It all depend on where you connect it to and where the tether switch is mounted.
I have mine mounted at the base of my handle bar riser. and i cnnect it to my jacket. If it ever snagged on a branch of a tree that is the least of my worries at that point because i would be already be wrapped around the tree myself
I am with rlcofmn on this one having a tether is cheap insurance that sled will never rocket off into the forest without you being at the controls unless of course something freaky happens like in Wolfones case. but that was one in a million.

The first time I rode my new to me Nytro, a tree branch snagged my tether and I fell off. I was just going thru some trees and a stray branch caught the tether cord and pulled it off and I was transferring my weight when the sled shut off. Even with that mishap... I am glad it's on there.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna get one. I'll give it a shot and see if it get's in the way or catches on branches. But i think it is definitely cheap insurance. It'll cut down on the running-dive-for-the-kill-switch maneuver. Which is nice.

Well I lost my motor due to it being upside down and the flapper being pinned to the bar by the snow. Not fun. The tether is a godsend. I WOULD NOT DRIVE A FOUR STROKE WITHOUT IT.

I would rank the ROV as top 3 in Add ons. The Nytro needs a few things for it to work right... The Relocate, the Jacobsen ROV and Tether and a NEW TRACK....

I had that problem with the stock kill button.. which is why it doesn't work anymore.
I always ride with a tether, never had a problem with it. Get one and use it!

I clip it down low, to my lower backpack strap slightly to the left side. The cord stays nice and low, and stays out of the way from my hands when boondocking through the trees.
It stretches out long enough to deploy the ice scratcher's, warm my hands on the exhaust, etc.

You may want to look into a Yamaheater Bill

IMHO, there should not be a powersports machine ( snowmobile, four wheeler, waverunner or dirtbike ) sold, from the factory, without an engine killing tether switch.
Ask Mr. Burandt, and be glad that you were not in harms way...

oh well I destroied my 30000 euro sled despite I was using the theter but it was a very unrepeatable circumstances.
On my underwork next building I'll go to re-install OFT Roll Over Valve with tether mixed with the Air-Tether.
I'm a little afraid about battery life of the 'body unit' but I hope that if works in your cold winther, could work also in our not-so-cold winter
