How can they make it out the window on the gt? The slides are wider than windows...

Tip sled on it's side, take the screw out, pound them about 2" out of the track window, flip sled back upright, jack up so track isnt touching the ground, start sled, put in revesere, gas it ans slides are off in about 2 seconds, now tip back on side put new ones on. Did mine like this, bout a 10 minute install.
Huh???
With the slides hanging out of the track windows, when you put the sled in reverse, the track essentially peels the slides off the rails. Works slick!

Once it is out the window, the clips will grab it and peel it off like a banana skin. You then rotate the track in reverse. Having a reverse gear helps this process but it can be done without(turning the track by hand).

I'm a bit confused on how you can put the sled in reverse to remove the slides after they're hanging out of the window. How can the track turn with the slides hanging out?
I'm getting very frustrated with having to replace the slides on my vector constantly. My last set only lasted 98 miles. The back section of the slides is burning down to warning bar on the first day of riding. This time I added marginal snow wheels in the back section and hopefully that will help. I'm on my 5th set of slides and only 1,350 miles on the sled.

wow 98 miles and there burning threw, they must not be getting any snow on them.I have not done the reverse trick yet,But when they hand out the window and you gas it it will rip them off right over the bars, sounds easy I am going to try it.

There wasn't much snow on them when they lasted 98 miles, but when there is good snow, they last about 300 miles. I've complained to the dealer about this many times and only been told to raise the limiter straps or add marginal snow wheels. I finally did both, now I'm waiting for more snow to test. All the stock wheels in the sled also warped. I did get Yamaha to pay the bill for replacement wheels and tried the accessory wheels. The inner ones are starting to lose their rubber after 98 miles.

Well On the wheels , Mine were Junk after 500 miles, so I changed them all over to the old Yamaha ones, I hade to do some machine work on the inner ones to get them to fit, I only have 200 miles on them but they look new. I got 700 miles on the hyfax and it will not last much more, I am thinking of clipping my track or putting on the slp wear savers. This should soulve the hyfax problem, They tryed to sell me wheel kits but I was thinking a was having enoght trouble with the wheels I have so I dint want to add anymore, I am still waiting to see if Yamaha is going to cover the wheels
