RTX or GT?

Looking at ordering a new Apex, but having a hard time deciding which one to get the RTX or GT. 90% of the time I ride the trail system of Northern WI so trails range from smooth to rough. The other 10% I like to jump in sand pits, ditches, and snow banks getting as much as 5 feet high of air. One would first say that RTX is for that application, but I like that the GT has adjustable rebound and compression adjustments for both the front and rear shocks and would be more adaptable in a wider range of conditions. The RTX you can only adjust the compression on the rear. I also like the color of the GT better than the RTX. Do you think the GT would be just as good in the rough as the RTX?

The Attak would be better than both IMHO.
If you're set on getting a shorty I'd go GT.

I am having a rough time deciding between and ER and an RTX.
I like the lightweight of the Floats and I'm not worried about reliability.
I just cant get a handle on the difference in the 2 for trail riding and fast cornering.
A black sled isnt my first choice, but I like the RTX graphics

OK Dan, we all know how you feel about the Attak. Sounds to me hes got it down to the RTX and GT as noted in his topic.

RTX-Rough Trail
GT-Groomed Trail

Its really as simple as that. If you ride the trails 90% of the time, the Apex series sled are the way to go. Deeper snow applications and Boondocking are much better suited for Attak. Now between RTX and GT it really is a tough choice. If we knew for sure that the RTX would have stiffer seat material and firmer rear end, I think the RTX would be the sled you would want. I think if you like jumping the 121" is definetely the way to go. More control and less weight are a big bonus while you are in the air...BBY

You said it all right there. A wide range of conditions in which you like to ride aggressively. Go with the GT as it has more adjustability and the chance to adjust the rear on the fly! The RTX would probably be a fine choice as well, but you said you like the adjustability which the GT it can be done easier on! The Attak is more of a trail cruiser and "brush" sled. It will push slightly in the corners and not be as agile as the GT or RTX due to it's longer track.

As a side note I have a viper right now that has the suspension, handle bars, and running boards setup for so called ditch banging/jumping. Will the RTX compair to that and fly thought the air the same, or the other thought is to switch to a rev X, but I know how you guys feel about that one. LOL

Well as of right now, theres not a better big bump sled or better big air sled than the Rev X. However I think you might be surprised how the new Yamis fly given they are a bit heavier. The reason they fly so well is rider position. If you look in this months Snow Tech, they claim that you actually sit 9.5" more forward on the Apex than RX-1. This is a big positive for guys like you. I think the technology of the new Yamaha far exceeds anything from the yellow camp and IMO, your getting much more sled for your $ by buying Yamaha...BBY

I believe it. The first minute on it I sat back in the usual position. But quickly found that moving forward feels so much better and doing that you still have a lot of room, not like the RX 1
That is such a big factor as to why these corner so well also.

Very torn between the ER and RTX :o|

If I were to order one, I would skip the electro-mono as the adjustment on the RTX is still pretty easy to get to. I would see if I could get the GYT-R shocks up-front on the ER personally - reverse is nice.

All 3 are impressive, but I'm going to wait to see if that 150 HP FI Venture comes out in '07 or '08

i ordered the gt just for the fact of the gold shock thats under it! But i also think that the color combo is cool since i just got a chevy duramax that is all black with aluminum wheels, they will look cool together!

BTW, BBY what model did you decide on?

BBY - I think I know personally about the air thing.

LOL

Ryan, Im going with the RTX...BBY

That seat foam difference between the ER and RTX is killing me. That ER seat foam just seemed way to soft. But for $400.00 more I get the RTX with Fox Floats and a stiffer seat if, if thats how its going to be.
