Just bypass the switch on the carbs. Disconnect it from the harness and plug the harness side wires into each other. If you still have the problem, the problem is not the switch.
Once you find the problem, remove the bypass. This is a safety feature that we all want you to have in place, just in case we meet up with you on the trail.

As I posted either, I have already bypassed the switch and the sled works great.
Just have to replace the carb switch before I remove the bypass.
Looks like it will be quite a task so won't get done till it goes to the shop for something.
Just was looking for any help now on changing it but looks like no one has done it.
On the safety issue, apparently other sleds beside yamaha's don't have this switch.

The carburetor switch has to be faulty.
Bypassed it and the sled works great.
So, as anyone changed a carburetor switch? Can you just buy the switch, which looks like it would be a pain to change, or does it come as an assembly with the throttle adjuster and all?
I think what throws you a bit is the switch is part of TORS and TORS can not be working correctly if the switch is bad. I think that is what was getting us down a different path. I guess I should have questioned the above a bit more. Then, ... There are two threads going on with the same symptoms, but different problems.
The switch is not hard to change. You just have to remove a few things to get at it. Take your time and be patient. Make note of the adjustment position of the old before you remove it. Speed Kilzzzzzz. Good luck!

I know this is an old thread but im having the same issue
Just recently bought a 2005 rx1 warrior seems to idle fine, starts right up, can even wide open throttle sled runs good. But if you let go of the throttle quickly from half throttle or more, this abrupt deacceleration causes it to lose all power rpms bounce around the 3k range, almost like it has a rev limiter, and it backfires, once the rpms settle after a few seconds your good to take off and everything seems normal. So I believe I'm having an issue with the TORS and I read what I could find on these forums and was going to do the bypass on the wires above the carburetors, but they seemed to already be plugged into one themselves already. I heard there's possibly two tps on these sleds one by carbs one by handlebar throttle, how do you fix the TORS system correctly what am i looking for up in the handlebars? I cant find a single video on YouTube on this other than the one about TORS wires above the carbs being plugged into one another and my sled previously had that done apparently.
