Schmidt bros. clutch kit and cold air intake

Yes he said he uses all OEM parts in the clutching. Where the stock rivets hard to get out?

Not too bad, the one in the tip is made of soft aluminum and comes right out, the mid and heel are made of harder material and take a bit longer....
The key is to be careful to just grind the rivets!!!

The weekend of the 21,22,23 i will be up north to truly test it. My buddy has an apex pretty much stock and I was able to get him by 2 lengths consistently last year...up to 90mph of course....now with all the mods it should make a huge difference...probably the best mod I did this season was to lose 50 pounds and gain more muscle to throw this thing around!!!!!

KHEXX, I'm very interested in how the low engagment works out for track spin.

My new XR 1200 comes in at 2500. The new Apex is very low as well. It definetly helps on the launch, because my sled rips out of the hole... High engagement on a 4 stroke, justy blows the track out and or you need serious traction...

I just got back from my first 350 mile trip after installing the schmidt bros. stage 2 clutch kit and man does it work well. The low engagement works especially nice since I no longer need to bleep the throttle to get the sled moving. A gradual press on the throttle gets the sled moving very nicely. The mid range and top end has tons of power. I am actually surprised by how good this clutch kit works for me. I am very glad that I went with the Schmidt Bros. clutch kit. All of his stuff has worked well for me.

I'm wondering if dropping the roller size with my DnF setup would help things in the traction dept. What I'm curious about it when you are racing and whack the throttle if it makes a difference as you are reving up so quickly.

smaller rollers, lowers engagement and grabs the belt harder on the bottom.

Thanks nor'easter, I have a Ulmer Kit but am having some issues with engagement. I was just wondering what there using, cause I am swaping springs like underware.

Put 75 miles on the sled last night through 6-8" of ungroomed trails....I will tell you what I did notice...Nice smooth starts with the lower engagement with breathtaking midrange power!!!! The kit makes this thing pull much much harder in the midrange! Also liked the way i was able to negotiate tight turns by feathering the throttle without throwing my neck out of wack with the stock (higher) engagement. Its hard to pinpoint where the coldair mod adds, but if i had to guess I would say it would be on the low to midrange. Might be a contributor to that midrange pull that throws you towards the back of your seat...It also gives the sled a nice THROATY sound!
I was not able to really open the sled up past 75mph, so the top end remains untested. This weekend I am heading up north to a cabin in the Woodruff area. I will open it up on the lake to check max rpm and top speed.....
So far I am overly impressed, even without reaching higher speeds...
I want to not only try it out on a lake, but also on more packed trails instead of powder. Will keep you posted!!!! So far I am IMPRESSED!!

stage 2 has different rollers, correct?

I have had this kit since last yr. Over 1500 miles on it. The difference is night and day. I have been working with Chris at Schimidt Bros for over a year now. Great guy, great work and has great knowledge on the Nytro. Heck as many times I have called if he charged me a penny per call he would be doing ok!! lol! Anyway, well worth the money spent. i have stage 2 and cold air, CR10EK. I ride the U.P. alot the best part is to left off the gad into the corners and not get all the engine braking but yet hit it and the power is right back on. Huge improvement in oppinion. happy trails!!
