ahahaha thanks guys...
Here's some not so good news from today's Ride Update:
We headed out to the tent for the weekend…we had some friends join us for the day and they went on a wood cutting mission…
Look at that Nytro…
all geared up like a transport…I had just finished carving and I lost control of the machine, somehow my back hit the edge of the running board and I felt the track hit my shoulders. I was upside down when I landed but I feel fine…
Ray and I hit the powder while the boys cut wood…Ray has pics of me riding, hoping he puts them up or fires them off to me so I can add them later…
How’s this for a brochure picture for Yamaha!
Here’s Ray carving it up at –30 C (-22 F)
What’s this?
Above is a pile of oil underneath my 2008 FX Nytro MTX…most of the oil that my 4 stroke holds is sitting in the snow.
Then there’s this…
Hairline cracks in my Secondary…what’s going on?
This is what’s going on…
What happened?
I have video that helps explain the list of events, although a cause is yet to be determined, have a look:

Sorry to hear that Yellow. I'm sure everyone who reads this is going to be really interested to hear what you've got going on there. I hope you get her on the snow again soon.

I'd guess you alreadyknow this but error code 30 is low oil pressure. Engine will start but sled can't be driven.
Bummer Allen!

could you not put the broken down sled's track in the tobogan facing the rear and turn the skis around on it, it would be a lot easier to pull it?

bush wacker - I've heard a few stories from Kyle about your rear suspension. Hope she's working well for you now. I haven't had any problems covering the rear hole, giver!! It gets warmer though under the seat so be sure not to contact the pipe with anything you don't want melted, and be careful not to lean up against the plastic cowling that is next to the muffler.
Papi, the sled was easier to tow by the spindles than to tow with a boggan. I'd wreck the boggan for nothing. Over all those moguls the sled would smash the sides of the boggan and my ride wouldn't be so comfortable either.

Jeez when you look up do all you see is a black cloud that follows you around? If something will break it will break for you it seems. Hope you get back up and running quick.

Do you think the hard 8DN belt has anything to do with this.....powder, hard belt, slippage and WOT running. .... this might explain the secondary, the oil leak...no idea..??
any news yet...?

YES - I have news.
First off thanks to Force One in Yellowknife for getting the sled in right away to have a look and see what needed to be ordered.
It looks like the oil leak is my fault.
My engine is fine, thank god, but …when I did the oil change I accidentally left an extra o-ring on the oil filter – it was spitting oil through the extra seal.
The extra seal has been removed and the oil is topped up, the motor is good to go...
BUT...
The secondary is definitely screwed. Force One placed an emergency order today and i'm waiting to hear about availability.
I went back through my pictures and I didn't take one with the oil filter off. I swear I checked to see if the o-ring had come off the old filter and stuck on the motor, cause it says to do that right in the manual, and I remember wiping down the area that the filter connects on with a rag and it was bare metal. I must have missed it - oil filters can't come with an extra o-ring on them can they? lol
I don't have the oil filter to check it for the missing o-ring. Damn. I guess I'll never know for sure.

funny, another TY poster mentioned he did the same thing and that we should watch for this when changing our oil. He said that the original o-ring stuck .......... factory must put them on dry.

Is the secondary failure related to your engine issues? From excessive heat?
