(Season 2008-09) TY Mileage – Yellowknife

Saturday, November 15th Entry:

So here's the scoop - we headed out at 8am, Nate looked like he was ready to pass out and Brian was the opposite ready to hit the snow.

The riding down this old winter road was great, lots of snow and the weather was cool...

We rode about 50 km's (31 miles) up and hit a small river. I thought we would turn around but Nate decided otherwise...

No, there was no Bearcat or Greg this weekend so we figured why not test our luck some more, Brian went next...

Then it was my turn, but not before tossing the camera's across the river - see video below for that...

So all was well, things were good - there were a couple tree's across the trail, Brian and Nate attacked one here...

And then the tree snapped and they went flying lol

The snow was awesome for sure for this time of year...

I ended up hitting a grouse head on, he was in the snow sleeping or something and he smoked his head off my front bumper, so I harvested him lol

At our turn around point we were talking about how nothing had broken yet, then on the way home we lost somebody - Brian has disappeared - and then Nate...what happened?

You'll have to watch the video; (it's the wrong aspect ratio - squished heads, sorry, experimenting with codec's)

The link that bdm posted of you guys is wicked funny good times there, so whats the story behind the nytro droppen valves???

Fixed the link in the original post. Yellowkinife, the url portion of the tag had quotation marks, just had to delete the quotes.

lol, sorry bdm - I screwed up the url when I pasted everything in, thanks for posting it. And thanks for fixing it Crewchief47!

Tridav3 - we've been trailering to get away from the lakes around town - but next weekend you should be able to go most places.

yamaslob - not sure what is up with that Nytro, but the dealer should be able to tell us more and hopefully I will remember to report back on it. Brian says Sled has 4950km on it 4800 on the first motor before it busted a valve and destroyed too many other internal parts to salvage, and now just 150km on the second motor and something is definitely sounding off inside it. Hopefully it's an easy/minor fix.

I really enjoy reading about, and watching your adventures. Thanks for this and previous years adventure topics. Hope Brian gets his issues with his nytro figured out.

Blown Nytro update - from NytroYK

"Went down to Force One to get the verdict on my sled, looks like a connecting rod went when my engine got starved for oil. Can't say I know how that happened as I started the ride at 3/4 in the tank. She must have been spewing oil all down the trail...because Force One told me that they put 2.5L in and the tank hold 3. So I am SOL and a rebuild is upwards of 3g. "You are looking at atleast 20 hours of labour @ $120/hour" So I'll go pick up my lawn ornament tomorrow sometime"

that sucks. oil tank is probably cracked by the mount. hondo and a few others on the site have had this problem. time too look at evilbay for a motor or a sled werckers.
