Great video's keep them coming. Soon winter will be over up there and the motorcycles will be coming in to town. What about the summer episode. A

I have so much footage, some of it amazing from the past 12 years that I could probably edit video 8 hours a day for a year. I'd love to get more summer stuff up. Right now I'm still trying to get through the winter stuff. Learning new software that also has glitches in it has slowed me down significantly, along with the increase in footage from the helmet camera I've started to use. It would be good if I got a laptop that I could edit with on the road but I don't have the money for that right now and just finished upgrading my computer at home in order to produce these video's in High Definition. We'll see what happens!!

OK, so here's the next episode!

2013 Snowmobile Season: Episode 12 HD 720p

Video Description: Audio Alert: One section is missing sound, it's an ongoing problem with my software.

More exploring from the wall tent, Mark gets stuck, we explore a mine site we've never been to before and it's the biggest one yet, in the process we stumble on some wildlife, target practise back at camp, more wood gathering, and a tease for more exploring in an upcoming episode.

Cheers,

YK

I believe it was in operation starting in the 1930's. The interesting thing about these sites, because of the lack of regulation back then (which still suck now) companies could abandon the sites without any liability for clean up costs. So today, it is the Federal Government's problem, so they go in and clean them up, but to do that they usually have to build winter roads, which in turn brings in prospectors who then stake claims again on the abandoned site and because they have easy access from the feds putting the road in, it's cheap for them to explore. It's become more common that once the feds go in to clean up a site, a new company comes in immediately after and re-opens operations. Today they are subject to more regulations around trust funds for clean up operations, but companies can still technically walk away without remediation leaving it on the backs of tax payers.

I'm working on the next vid now. Cheers!

Well, here's the second last episode! (it's pretty good :)

2013 Snowmobile Season: Episode Thirteen HD (720p)

Video Description: Powder riding on a small pond, getting Mark unstuck, a must-see crazy encounter with some Whiskey Jack's while exploring on Consolation Lake, checking out another camp, rolling the 18,000 km mark on my 2009 FX Nytro XTX, breaking more trail, coming across unidentified tracks that may belong to 'big foot', finding a hair sample to send away for DNA testing, showing Mark the 'mansion' on Consolation Lake, arriving back at the wall tent for the night, waking up and sorting out the fuel cache the next day, going on a longer (existing) trail ride through Thor Lake Project (mine) and onto the cliffs at the East end of Blanchette Island on Great Slave Lake (East Arm) while checking out the largest pressure ridges I've ever seen, close up shots of ice frozen along the cliffs suspended in huge icicles, both Mark and I run out of fuel, noting the fuel mileage numbers, coming across a dead cat, packing up at the tent for the trip home, a minor accident on the ride home, and wrapping up the trip's total mileage.

Cheers,
YK

Here's the final Video: 2013 Snowmobile Season: Episode Fourteen of Fourteen HD 720p

Video Description: Helmet camera footage using the skiwheelz, passing by a dog sled team on the lake, Andrew has a jerry can dragging behind his sled, pulling some minimal wheelies, riding out to Jennyjohn, Christy learning to chop wood, a flashback of Margaret putting the axe into her ankle, Nate & Greg trying to make a Polaris fan cooled sled pull a catwalk, Matt surfing in the boggan behind the Bearcat, pulling some catwalks on Nate's XRS, catching a fish, riding home, maxing the XTX out at 159 km/h on the GPS (164 km/h on speedo), heading to the lodge/wall tent for disassembly, breaking my scratchers and melting my sliders on the XTX, tearing down the tent, the massive boggan load, checking out a natural spring overflow onto Hearne Lake, taste testing the water from the spring, identifying a potential issue with the XTX's starter, and wondering what another noise is after shutting the engine off, packing up the trucks with all the gear after the last snowmobile ride of the season April 21, 2013, and a final tally of winter season stats including mileage.

Thanks for watching my vids again this past season folks, I'm planning to continue them this coming winter and hopefully get some summer video's up in between so subscribe if you haven't to the youtube page in order to see the summer stuff; fishing/off roading/... there's even a bear attack episode coming.
