RX, Looks like you had a great trip, Maine is great for riding and has so many sites and points and you can spend days and never see the same thing twice. I have ridden with Hondo a couple times, great host and tour guide! Maybe next year we can all hook up if you visit again?

Love your pics. I ride those trails often, guy I ride with owns the little house across from St. Peter's store. John is an awesome guy to deal with , even though I live in southern maine I buy my sleds from him because the service there is second to none

Weekend at Our cabin on Gagga Lake.
We have plenty of snow at the cabin.
The NeXT morning I had to showel snow off the roof.
Overlooking Gagga Lake, it's a 5 mile lake.
Had to showel snow off the deck as well.
I have extended my 2008 Apex RTX from 121" to 136" or 307 cm to 346 cm.
It came out a success. The sled rides the deep stuff way better With a longer track and Mountain skis up front.
I've also put an extension on the tow-sled.
It's offset by 5-6" or 12-15 cm, as the sled got more ground clearance in the rear the hook moved upwards.
With the New offset extension the tow-sled sists nicely leveled.
Kids are playing in the snow digging thru the snow drifts.
The roof finally done.
Outside the front door.
Our kids are playing in the snow, jumping off the deck into 3-4 ft of snow.
End trip.

My wife Heidi.
Brother-in-Law Thomas and his 2013 Nytro TTX.
This year the gathering had less visitors than the average, nevertheless we were a few hundred sleds gathered With a 100 more People than sleds
A few pics from the pond.
Friday at Easter
We went to Fransvannet Lake and the famous camping site at Katthålla, The Lynx Nest
Our ride
Strange thing.... we were the first People to enter the Katthålla, never happened before LOL maybe we were up early for once.
We lit up a Campfire to make hot dogs and fry some meat on the open fire.
We usually bring a Box of Food, candies, snacks, chocolate and beverages.
A few hours later. Other People have joined us at Katthålla. Camps have been set up all around us. Friends and Family have joined us at Our camp
Katthålla is a Nice Place where we're shielded from the Wind by the forest all around.
There's a Nice hill for the children to play in.
Linnea is having a blast on her Board.
A pic shot from the half way up the hill.
There's a few cabins on the far side of the lake. People are camping on the lake. A few sledders are out riding.
Our kids have climbed the steep hill.
Saturday at Easter.
Going up to the Katthålla again. We had a blast up there Friday. Getting ready to leave.
Up at Katthålla on Fransvannet Lake. It's a popular Place to og camping. A lot of sleds and People joined in during the day.
The kids absolute love to play on the steep hill.
Later in the day we drove further into the Plains to Sappas Lake. It was very windy up there and quite Cold With the windchill.
The kids played for a short while on this slope. I towed them up and they slid Down on their snow swingers.
Except for the Wind the weather was beautiful. The Plains are covered under 6-8 ft of snow.

A weekend at Our cabin at Gagga Lake.
Start odo.

Saturday. Kids are out playing in the snow.

Outside the cabin at night.

In the late evening we lit the Campfire.

Sunday. Kids are out playing in the snow.

Weather is great, kinda Cold but Nice any sunny.

My wife Heidi is relaxing in the sun.

I'm running Yamaha Mountain skis on my RTX, Works great in the loose and deep stuff.

I made a trail Down the hill from the cabin for the kids and their snow swingers.

Sunday morning.
I went for a ride in the Mountains. Left wife and kids at the cabin and headed for the hills.
Up on the mountain Plains.

At the edge of the Plains, where the forest ends and the endless great white starts.

A sledder on his way back home from the Plains.

Entering the Mountains.

A mountain Ridge in the distance. Can you imagine freeriding on the endless Plains?

Back at the cabin.

We lit the Campfire to Cook Food. Beverages and fried meat over open fire, yummy

End trip.

End odo.

Out riding my turbo sled.
Start odo.
Out freeriding in the Leavdnjavarri hills. Very rough and rocky terrain but fun to ride in this area.
Puts your riding skills to the test.
Came Down this hillside.
Into the Rochi valley.
Up again into the Leavdnjavarri hills, it's a Nice Climb up thru the trees.
My sled
The area is full of narrow Valleys With steep hillsides.
It's a darn fun Place to go freeriding.
I saw a King Eagle, sorry about the blurry pics. The second larges bird in Norway, only the Sea Eagle is larger. The king eagle has a wingspan at 6-7 ft for a fully grown bird.
Up on the highest peaks.
Overlooking the valley. The fjord bottom covered With sea ice.
Cool mountain area, nothing very high but a lot of hills and Valleys.
Again I've climbed up to one of the many peaks in this area.
It's plain beautiful up there.

Start odo.
It's the last ride to the cabin this season.
We brought firewood to Stock up for the summer and Autumn season.
We have enough to keep us going until the snow flies NeXT November.
We still have enough snow to ride
The trail to the cabin.
The Campfire Place is free of snow, Nice
My wife and kids are preparing the Campfire, time to roast some hot dogs.
The lake is ridable still, very little melt water on top.

Final ride of the season. Not because of lack of snow, nor because of trails closing Down.
From the pics you will find we have a lot of snow left at altitude; more snow than in many years at this time of the season.
Select mountain trails are open to May 12th around here and to May 18th further inland on the Plains.
I'm leaving for the Canary Islands for a summer vacation, that ends my season way too early
Gotta keep wife and kids happy LOL
Start odo.
Last ride of the season. Took off from home early afternoon.
Snow is gone at 150 ft or 50 meters above sealevel.
Winter starts at 1000 ft or 300 meters.
Loaded off the sled Close to a tiny pond.
At 1300 ft it's all Winter and great riding conditions.
No sign of spring up at 1500 ft. Mount Suonjirgaissa in the distance.
We have got a thin layer of fresh snow. Riding was super, great trails and freeriding even better
At Soidnejavri Lake, to the South east.
Later the same evening brother-in-Law joined me for an evening ride in the Mountains.
On the top of Mount Suonjirgaissa at 3100 ft or 1030 meters.
What a view from the mountain
To the west, the sunset is closing in.
The endless Plains to the North.
The Eastern Gaissa region, many 3000+ ft or 1000+ meter peaks. The highest is Mount Rastigaissa to the left in the Picture.
Our sleds.
On my way down I stopped at the foot of the mountain and shot a pic of the Climb.
Change in elevation from the foot of the mountain to the top is about 1000-1200 ft, pretty steep, but no problem on a boosted sled
The foot of the mountain, on Our way Down towards the plain.
On Our way home we climbed anouther mountain, Mount Luostegaissa. Altitude 2900 ft or 950 meters.
A few Mountains in the Central Gaissa region. Mount Halkkavarri Close by and Mount Gagga in distance.
Brother-in-Law shoting pics.
The valley of Luostejohka Down below.
Mount Suonjirgaissa in the distance. We climbed that mountain straight up to the highest peak.
Winter is on at altitude.
The beast
Sorry about the blurry pic. The Mountains of the Western Gaissa region in the far distance, highest peak at 3500 ft or 1140 meters.
Brother-in-Law on the peak.
On Our way back west, the sunset shot from a hillside overlooking the upper part of Luostejohka valley.
Pics shot from the last hill up from the parking lot.
Me.
Ooops I forgot to install the side panels. LOL just kidding. I put in a set of dragracing weight arms and didn't care to install the side cover. The weights are going out as I like the Supertips 60Y a lot better for trailriding.
I'm a happy sledder that's for sure. What a great ride we had yeeeehaaaaii
Brother-in-Laws 2013 Nytro TTX.
The parkinglot used by the local Sami reindeer herdsmen and sledders. The Sami's have a lot of cabins at the site as the reindeer herds pass thru this Place on their way to and from the coast. The Reindeer migrate to the coast every spring and back to the Plains and the inland every autumn.
Our cars and trailers, mine is the Suzuki, Brother-in-Law drives the Merchedes.
This fence is used when separating the reindeers. Some are going to the butcher, some are not, and sometimes the herds mix and make a mess for the heardsmen.
On Our way Down the mountain I shot a pic of the Porsanger fjord bathing in the Sunlight at sunset.
End trip.
End odo.
Sleds are stored for now. They will get the required attention when it comes to maintenance this summer.
It's been a great season. I've not been riding very much at home, but I got a lot of miles riding With Hondo aka Bob Davis in Maine. The sleds have performed flawlessly. Work on the sled will be covered in the rxrider's turbo garage thread.
See ya all NeXT season.
