I had been out only once and for less than a mile prior to this initial test ride. I rode the sled casual nothing slow but I was not pushing it either. The heat wrapping around the turbo and exhaust pipes was still burning out so I didn't want to heat it too much initially. I just checked AFRs and Boost a few times, other than that I just cruised around before heading home to my garage to look over the sled and check for leaks or the likes.

Saturday morning we went out for some crosscounty skiing with the kids. I'm still standing on my own two...

My godson Jostein visited us this easter to go riding with us.

We attended a fishing contest, a lot of people and sleds on a small pond thirsday easter.

Kids are fishing.... too bad they didn't get any.

In the evening my godson and I went out for an evening ride. It was time for his first ride on a sled by himself ever. He's lives in Oslo the capitol of Norway, down south where they do not have trail even they have lots of snow, legislation in Norway is crazy.... anyway he got to ride at last.

He did pretty good for a FLIT - FlatLanderInTraining.

In the weekend we rode up to our cabin on Lake Gagga.

The next day we rode into the plains, he got a lot of miles riding on his own, he left us with a dream... to buy his own sled for next winter I must have done something right bringing him into sledding at age 15.

She worked pretty good all easter without any tuning whatsoever. I have replaced the Meth diode, have not ridden it yet. With the meth working I will up the boost a lot. At 13 lbs of boost I'm running 11.2 AFR WOT, she is spot on at engagement, in cruise, in midrange at 0 and 5 lbs of boost, except WOT. Also I have a lean spot driving at or slightly above engagement rpms with AFR from 15 to 17, some lean popping at 17. I'm tired of rejet, going to make a restriction on the line going to the float bowls, adjustable if possible using a valve of some sort.

Time for the annual towing of firewood out of the bushes. My father had prepared all we needed to carry and the Rekka Towsleigh was waiting ready to hook up. My dad's getting ready to jump on board and head for the bushes. We started out at 9 AM.

I had drove some 20 miles the day before to compact the trail enough to be able to tow a heavy load back home. The trail froze nicely overnight and we started out with a frozen hardpacked trail
We're at the first of 4 stands, totalling 14 sled loads of birch trees.

We have firewood area up in the hills not far away from my fathers house, about a mile or so mostly downhill to his house, it's an easy path for towing a load. View over the Smørfjord valley.

First load not topped, we never top out the first load until we know the trail will hold up and the tracktion is there, and if all is well we fill it to the limit or more.

Last load on stand two ready to ship.

Half way thru we stopped for lunch, soft drinks, water and coffe.

We did the third stand up in the hills before towing the last stand in from our own land as we have a small forrest on my dad's property. We'd cut down one or two stands every year for the last 10 years and we haven't gone thru it yet, nice to have a reserve close to home. We cut the forest to look pretty meaning we do not cut it all down, we actually leave the best trees to make the forest look pretty and to ensure that after growth will be good.

At the parking lot.

We're ready to ride across the lake to our cabin, we chose another parking lot as there are very little snow on the trail from where we usually park.

The famous ash clouds coming from the vulcano in Iceland. It's very thin, only visible at night with a clear dark sky.

Even our cat had a great time outside in the sunshine.

Sunday at noon we decided to ride up into the mountain plains, entering the plains looking down into the Sarves Valley.

From this hill you can see far around, the girls have spotted a radio/telephone tower in the far distance, pointing in it's direction.

My youngest daughter wanted to ride with her dad on the sled, she had her helmet and goggles with her, and a few minutes later she was ready to ride.

We finally reached our destination up in the mountains.

Our girls had brought with them the SnowSwinger.... but where did the riders go????

We're at Lake Suoidnejavri close to Mount Suonjirgaissa.

We stayed on the lake until late afternoon, kids tried ice fishing with not luck this time again, the youngest one said: daddy I'm never going to catch a fish...... oh yeah you will... some day, have patience We'll get there at the right time sometime, when the fish is biting.

I pray it's not over just yet. Trails are open until May 5. I hope to be able to tune my turbo sled to perfection on the lakes when the ice is still good. We have perfect winter conditions in the mountains still, with fresh snow....

I´ve visited northern Norway many times when I skiied in crosscountry skiing competitions. My cousin lives in Kiberg with her family.

How´s the fishing over there in summer?

Fishing would be great, rivers for Salmon and Sea Troat and the lakes for Arctic Char and Troat. We have 3 good rivers in my county, with a lot more good rivers around Finnmark

Getting ready to leave for our cabin up at Lake Gagga. It's friday afternoon the 08 Apex RTX and the Nila sled is loaded into the trailer. Here's the trailer we bought a few months ago, it have made trailering much easier, and best of all no dirty sleds anymore.

Up at the cabin. Weather turned nasty saturday morning with heavy wind and snow drifting horizontally. View over the lake, stormy conditions out there.

We got 1" of fresh snow during the night.

Saturday afternoon I went out with the kid to play on the slope down at the lake close to our cabin.

Linnea, our youngest daughter, is making a run down the slope onto the lake on her SnowSwinger.

The lake is part of a hydro dam system, by now they have dropped the water level by 5 meters or 15 ft making a nice slope .


I made a new place for the girls to go riding their SnowSwingers. I cut down trees down the powerline and rode my sled up and down a few times. Here we go, Linnea is first to go almost down the hill already.

On sunday we visited some friends nearby, on our way back to our cabin we walked thru 4" of fresh snow

Sunday afternoon, I rode around the lake for a while, all the way to the far end of the lake and back a few times. Riding conditions on the lake was great, so was the weather.

I'm about mid lake in this pic, about the same distance to either end of the lake. View to the south east. The lake was in great shape with some fresh snow on top. I rode close to 100 mph or 160 kmt on the best parts of the lake. Some parts were bumpy at those speeds... had to slow down a bit LOL.

We had a great time at the cabin and I got a few miles riding on the lake sunday afternoon. I'm a happy camper.

Next time out I will be riding my turbo sled. Plan is to go up on the lake for a test and tune session. I finally have all stuff installed that I planned for.... it sure took some time to finish the install this year LOL

Today I was out on Lake Gagga for a testride on my old 03 RX-1 Turbo. First thing I did was to ride a few miles to fully warm up the engine before putting a load on it. After I reached operating temp I did a few short WOT bursts for a sec at the time. I found the boost was spiking badly and the sled was misfireing. Temps were at 3C or 37F. Weather was overcast with low clouds, low baro pressure and a very minimal drissle... a bad air day I would say.

My goal for the day was to check Meth injeciton, set boost pressure at 20 lbs, check AFRs, tune AFRs by restricting pressure going to the float bowls via a adjustable shut valve, tune clutches.

My sled is definitively inspired by the Swedish motorbike rider Ghost Rider, I chose black as the main theme color with no graphics like his bikes

Back to the testing, first test run at WOT; With WasteGate boost level of 12 lbs I did 228 kmt on speedo, boost controller was fully open. I had a slight misfire with AFRs in the low 11s. I established that my meth system was working. The boost spike I had initially was less pronounced, but now I had boost creep instead as boost rose during the WOT run.

With all systems checked I started to crank up the boost step by step.

The next run out I reached 14 lbs of boost. Boost creep went away, no boost spikes were observed. AFRs climbed to 11.5, I still had some misfire but nothing much, speed reached 233 kmt.

At the next run I had turned boost up to 18 lbs. No boost spikes, no boost creep, no misfire running at WOT. Rpms reached 10400. AFRs climbed to 11.8. Speed rose to 241 kmt.

Next I did was to turn the boost up to 20 lbs. Rpms reached 10500. AFRs went to 11.9. Speed was at 245 kmt. Top end is now about perfect. I still have some tuning to do low to midrange.
