April 11.
Riding to Lake Leavnnjas to catch Arctic Char.
Start odo.
Outside our cabin, ready to leave.
Our daughters in the Nila
We rode across Lake Gagga to a small pond up on the hill nearby the cabin.
We fired up a campfire and cooked hot dogs and stuff.
Amanda tried to catch anything... I have no idea what if any fish this pond holds.
The pond
After a few hours at the pond we headed west across Lake Gagga and into the mountains to Lake Leavnnjasjavri.
Linnea on the ice trying to catch Arctic Char.
Amanda is also trying to catch a fish.
From the left, my wife Heidi, Even - a friend of ours, and Thomas - brother in law.
Linnea with mount Vuorje in the distance. The mountain is a sacred place in the old Sami religion.
A view to the west to the far end of the lake.
On our way down from the mountains we stopped at Lake Vuollajavri.
Back home at the cabin on Lake Gagga.
To be continued......

April 12.
Riding into the mountains to east of Lake Gagga.
Getting ready to leave.
We're going to Lake Colbmijavri to try catching Arctic Char.
We stopped up at the Gagganjunnis mountain ridge, just above the tree line.
At Lake Colbmijavri. Linnea and Amanda.
Amanda on the ice trying to catch a fish.
We arrived at the lake first, the rest of the gang were running late and we didn't care to wait for them
Linnea on the lake trying to catch a fish.
Lake Colbmijavri is a small and narrow lake, a view to the north.
My wife Heidi on the ice.
On the way down from the mountains we stopped in the forest and lit a camp fire, cooked food and had a great time with our friends.
My cousin Per-Inge aka Skippern (Popeye - the sea pilot)
My wife Heidi.
A few friends....
End trip.

Snow conditions went from good to very soft the next few weeks and the weather was really bad for the rest of the season.
May 1.
We got fresh snow down at sea level.
Weather was pretty bad so I did not go out riding this weekend.
A few pics show outside our house.
The girls have their bikes out and the outdoor chairs and table are out.
Weather was pretty nice a week ago.... but then this happened, must be caused by global warming LOL

May 15.
Driving across the tundra crossing the Hatter and Sennalandet mountain regions.
At the foot of the Hatter mountain we encountered a snow storm.
It started out slow but fast evolved into a full blown blizzard.
At the next mountain of Sennalandet the conditions went from asfalt to full winter conditions.
Luckily we had not taken off the winter tires so we were well equipped for winter conditions.
It got even worse.
We made it to Alta without any problems.
We had to go a bit slower than we expected but we were in no hurry and reached our appointments on time.
This was the last storm of the season, but summer did not arrive until July.
May and June was way colder than the norm and the Sami reindeer herdsmen rode their sled into June in the Mountains.
Season is over, looking forward to the 2015-2016 season.
