Hey all,
I have read just about every thread I could find on painting/dying the seat. However, I have the gray-striped seat on my GT, and want to dye that stripe blue. Everyone recommends SEM color coat, but they do not make anything in blue. Has anyone ever done a blue dye job, and if so what dye did you use?

I used VHT vinyl dye blue on my Apex RTX. The stripe was red. I am extremely satisfied with the results. After 2 years and 10,000 miles there are only a couple areas around the seam that are wearing. You can not even tell from a distance. The actual color is a little darker than the stock color. I am guessing that is mostly due to the seat orignally being red. I used almost the entire can when I did the job.

did you use the VHT prep stuff too, or just cleaned it up really well?

I used some Biokleen Amazing Cleaner and cleaned the heck out of it with a toothbrush. Let it dry then painted it.
Thanks!
