So, looking for some expert opinions.
My 07 Attak GT seating is just too low compared to the new styles. I am 6' 5" and find my knees are bent past 90 degrees.
I had the foam replaced and a bit more added but still not much better.
Here's the next plan - build the seat up with a 2" x 6" wrapped in cloth and then encased in foam. The upholstery guy claims he can rebuild/re-cover the seat for around $300, it will just end up with a bit of a height transition at the trunk flap.
Has anyone tried this or something similar? Any pics would be appreciated.

thinking of my own backside, I would be afraid of a 2x6, only because of the narrowness. I think a 5 1/4 wide board would be painful to my a$$. Maybe a 8" or 10" would be better suited. I would try to find something lighter and as strong, go walk around the hardware or lumber store and look @ other items before adding wood. Plus wood holds water.
do you really need something that would be so bulky or heavy. Think of a couch with worn out springs, just add a solid surface under the cushions and it is much more firm. so maybe a sheet of some type of extruded plastic, and then add your foam above that.
just an idea with a different approach.

it does not have to be wood, a 2x6 piece of styrofoam would work as well. i think it would be to narrow but to each his own.

Blue DOW CNC'd to just the right shape. Hmmm bet someone here could do that and make a little dough.
Or maybe some other material like Tempurpedic foam.

I also had the great idea of raiseing the seat with denser foam. I paid an auto upolstery shop 200 to raise it about 2 or so inches and made it alot firmer.
But it was a fail. It was great sitting on it in the garage. I did'nt find out until i drove about 3 miles how it started to sink and made a hole wear my #*$&@ was and took about 5 mins off of the sled to look normal again.
I will have to think of a different rout next time.

Have you ever rode the firmer yammie seat? Its a night and day difference. You may still need the extra height, I am 6'1" and the GT seat felt about 4" too low but the RTX seat feels perfect and they are the same height you just dont sink in as far.
