Yes, 8jp, which I feel is low tensile strength, but I like grip and performance it offers.
I would say majority of my riding is big trails. I like to hover around 85-90mph then whack it wot for a mile, then repeat, which at -10f is easy on belts, but +40f is very hard on belts to maintain that speed.
Havnt been riding in 2 weeks, still at 900 miles. Hope to break 1000 next weekend.

I hate to even post and Jynx anything...But we just are starting to get local trails open, lakes are all killer now....Rode all weekend, ran it pretty hard corner to corner and lakes with the new Ultimax, Lowered Hurricane offset, Little to no float setup as Ive posted. So far so good, clutches are a good temp, Primary moveable sheave is near COLD while rear fixed sheave is pretty warm(heat transfer?) and secondary is just warm to touch, but can easily hold hand on it solid. So temps seem good. Little to NO belt dust with Ultimax compared to JUNK 8jp which I am so glad Im done with.
Lots of 270 map corner to corner, and then drop to 240 on lakes for longer WOT runs, as the newest version from Dave has ZERO knock for as long as I held it(3500 ft or more) with 87 octane! Kudos to Dave in the updated version. I find it boost a tad more initially(15psi) then settles back to 14.1psi. Its a tad less the previous version which ran 14.7 for me always, but it would knock on 87 after 2000ft or so. This is really nice, and still ultra snappy down low as its a Race version map that has big early spool. Pulling my 77.3g Daltons at 8800 now, but it was COLD temps all weekend.
All is well at moment...Pounded her through some real serious 4 foot junk, and then rode some mint hi speed stuff, and lots of perfect lakes all weekend....Not alot of trails connected as of yet, so not a huge mileage weekend but close to 300miles total now on this setup. My fave new thing is the transfer, Swapped with Dano and watched him on mine just snap nose at 50++ on lake and haul the ski's at will....my god the giggle factor is crazy now...lol
Next weekend will be lots more miles, in Qc....calling for HIGH temps of minus 25f!! Lows of 33 below F! This should be a test for this sled, and its starting ability.

Dan,
Does that ultimate perform as good as 8jp as far as grip? Will it leave black marks on clutches at all and/or slip?
How about top speed runs, will it provide same mph as 8jp?

So far i find it performs incredibly good. Nearly zero belt dust. Caveat is, we have been running in much colder temps then anything I ran last yr. High temps around 5f and lows 5 below locally or so. I know the sled and belts, clutching loves it cold for sure, just pulls so hard.Dan,

I would either run a Ultimax or a 8DN only. Ofcourse 8DN will be slower as its longer. 8DN is great for spares IMO.
Time will tell though on Belt longevity.....I still gotta unload sled off truck, and go through it all after the weekend miles and be sure she is ready for Qc trip Friday. Ill check the faces and see how they look, but last I peaked in there things looked clean on sheaves.

I switched to the Carlisle also. No marks on my clutch faces either primary or secondary. I do let my secondary float out 2-3mm

I tried the 8dn and it would leave black snot on clutches. Also 2-3 mph slower so went back to 8jp.
Makes a great spare however and is stronger than 8jp.

I ran the 8DN for 320 miles last week and clutches are clean as can be. Clutches and belt was cool as can be on 290 tune. No belt dust, no funny looking marks nothing. Working better than the 8JP was last season, accelerating stronger and running better speed than I ever did last season. I did however switch to a heavier EPI cat purple driven spring to keep from slipping in the secondary.
I'm no longer getting what I thought was track vibration and track ratchet. I do believe I was slipping in the secondary last season, where now I'm not. Aligned with Hurricane bar and setup for zero float. I used shims in the secondary sheaves for belt deflection like the old Cat reverse cam drivens did. Nice and simple!

Mike,
Is this all with cat/team primary? If so, how much heavier are the weights compared to factory primary?
Any idea what the rate is on that EPI purple??

Not to answer for him but he said in a thread somewhere this was all with Yamaha clutches at this point.
The EPI purple is roughly 86 lb / 148 lb. I say roughly because they are not measured exactly the same as the Cat spring. The Dalton springs are measured differently from the Cat springs as well Dale has mentioned this, can't remember which thread. Knapp's TEAM mock up maybe.

This was with the Yamaha Primary, DTYA-1's at 79g with 1" allen in tip and Dalton Black/Blue primary. Also had the stock intake airbox back on the machine, not CAI.
Purple is 86/148 at Cat heights.

With the 8jp I'm getting what I think is track ratchet up to about 40 mph & vibrations at over 105 mph . I will have to try out a 8DN see if that goes awayI ran the 8DN for 320 miles last week and clutches are clean as can be. Clutches and belt was cool as can be on 290 tune.
