Seat Time-Belt feedback after alignment with Hurricane Tool

With the 8jp I'm getting what I think is track ratchet up to about 40 mph & vibrations at over 105 mph . I will have to try out a 8DN see if that goes away

The heavier secondary spring is what gave me better grip in the driven sheaves in the top end where I was having issues. I opted for the 8DN as harder belts do better with the added grip of the heavier secondary spring. An added benefit is better backshift and response also.

Just switching to the 8DN won't do much for you without added side pressure in the secondary.

Knapp, I am glad you brought that ratchet thing up. I was having this too. I complained to my dealer as I thought it might be chaincase or something. I had never see extroverts ratchet if the track was even close. I made my track very tight and it was still there. I suspected the clutches but hadnt seen anyone else complain of this. My clutch kit seems to have fixed the issue. I bet it is better for belt life too...

I like running the track on the lose side but kept tightening the track a turn , what normally fixed about 5-6 skips on take off on the old Yamaha's . But never really got better. Just ordered a tan secondary spring from dalton will give that a try this weekend.

Please keep us posted on that spring. Thanks

My ratcheting feeling isn't on takeoff. Mine happens when you're cruising 50mph or so and mash the throttle a few seconds later when the boost hits I get the nasty ratchet sound/feel. Anybody else having this. I kept tightening up the track little by little last season trying to get it to go away.

I was getting what I thought was ratchet and bad vibration up around 90-100. Ran the track fiddle string tight and still did it. I even thought my stud pattern was crap and vibrated.
This season, same track on the machine, my track is a bit looser and I feel the heavier side pressure from the EPI purple spring got rid of the slippage and vibration I was getting in my driven clutch. All is smooth now and machine trucks upstairs and keeps right on pulling with the heavier driven spring. No vibrations and no track ratchet sensations or feelings. How much is heavier spring and how much is better offset from Hurricane alignment bar? I don't know for certain, I do know I'm much happier with the performance this season with all of it working properly.

I'll be able to tell you in 2 weeks. I had the same vibration you are describing. Only thing I have changed is aligning the clutches and eliminating float. I turned the HP up as well so if that vibration goes away then I'm on the right track.

400 miles on my SRX. 1 first belt blown after using alignment tool and removing 2.9mm.

Brent why the 824 if i may ask? 1 13/32 width x 44 1/4 long vs 1 7/16 wide x 44 3/8 long for 825.
