Got to ride again today on south side of tug hill, trails where pretty good for the low amount of snow we have.
But the viper impressed me again,I now have 210 miles on it and have had zero issues, run the 8dn belt and just a 2mm shim in primary ,was seeing 8900 rpm and saw 96 mph and was still pulling, not bad considering all the complaints that I read, not even close to being broke in and it's running like a champ.i did clean the primary really good when I had it apart to put the shim in,found lots of belt dust in the primary,so I will check it again tomorrow and see if there is the same amount of dust in there, since both my rides have been about the same miles, still loves this machine!

I thought (according to dealer instructions and owners manual) you should not exceed 8000 RPM until you have 300 miles. Just askin'

Awesome performance though.........

I break um in like I ride um,right or wrong,I have broke in 5 new 4strokes like this and never an issue, they all were stellar performers

Ride them like you stole them from day one!!!!

You are not supposed to run them under 8000 for the first 500 miles, the manual is wrong. lol

My first ride on new sled is next weekend, Any other advice?

Just don't hold her wide open for any long length of time, but feel free to rev it all over the rpm range, probably won't get much higher than 8400 at first but you will see that increase as the miles roll up,and your rpm will slowly climb

I'm coming up on outing #4. Did first oil change at 300 miles right before trip. Hopefully I'll be as happy as siscakidd when I hit the lake.
