Very good! Thanks. I'm excited to mess around with these, I have 52-40 49-43 51-43 50-46 48-35 48-34. Many many springs, primary and secondary.

About 2 grams each for thick ones? Less for thin. My scale is magnetic so I really cant get a good reading for a magnet since it sticks. Bikeman has the thinner Magnets. That's what I put in the Cat.
The d&d magnets are 1.3 grams each. Was just actually at tractor supply the other day and say the same style magnets but slightly thinner there.

What Cat are you talking about? Is it a 7000? Just looking to see if I'm missing out on any opportunities to add easy performance gains to mine... always looking! Except for a Sandale can, mine is stock.Sorry for getting you guys riled up! When I buy a Yamaha 4st I have every intention of keeping it 20,000 mi+. So depreciation is really not a factor for me. Will eventually try to get my oldest daughter off Phazer and onto Viper. She would rather ride the Cat though. Doesn't like the viper. I think its just the seat difference that forces her forward and being small legs are forced apart. The Cat has lower seat and actually feels like Phazer when sitting. Anyhow not getting rid of Viper anytime soon. Person has to set goals. 110mph in perfect snow is attainable and if I get it whining will end. I will say this. That Cat got 103mph GPS same day same track Viper got 107mph gps. But the cat only has a clutch kit that was never tuned all stock otherwise so I do not consider Viper a 800 since Viper has a lot of mods. 600's are not a challenge unless internal mods such as porting etc are done. I guess I never really ran a 600 for really long distance since they have all given up way before then. Even when I was pretty much stock. Man we need snow! All work no play makes Steve a crabby boy. Can ya tell!

Im going to be trying the 14.5 rollers this year with my rtx with 2" track, mpi stage 1 turbo running 8 psi stock compression evo flash, ill be using stm 60y weights with a 40-46 dalton helix and TP sidwinder orange secondary, 21/41 gearing. My old setup with 24/49 gearing @ 6 psi had a lot of belt slip and was very inconsistent work great some days and other run like a dog bouncing off the limiter on launches so i needed more belt grab so that what i Am hoping for with the 14.5 rollers without adding extra weight to the weights i want to keep them as light as possible for quick response ill be doing a write up on how it worked out ad what my final setting were.

So d&d magnaforce weights are an aggressive profile while cotc and OSP weights are flat. Am I getting this right?
Depends on which OSP weights you get, the first style OSP weights are flat, the 2nd (ACY) version and 3rd version (prototype race, think I have a set and there are only a few more sets out there that were made just before Big Jim passed) have the more aggressive profile. I worked with Big Jim on these weights since October last year.
Studroes you ever compare the profile of Thunder Products weights to the Magna Forces? Kinda got a kick out of all the guys that preached flat profiles (C.O.C and OSP) and now they are running aggressive profile. Will say one thing that I need to question bit more. Drag racer I help out does like the Thunders over the Magnaforces because he is able to fine tune them more. Not sure what he meant by that but I did find some magnets that are half the thickness and same dia.
Yes, the Thunder Products weights you can really fine tune, compared to magnet style weights because of the shims.
****If you run magnet style weights, have a belt explosion....you better check to see if your magnets are still there. Blew a belt last year and lost 3 magnets. I'm not the only one who lost magnets. Rob who ran asphalt this past season blew a belt and the magnets went everywhere. His primary clutch was busted out and couldn't run anymore. Because the damage was to his air solenoid for launch, don't know if that is what caused the damage to the clutch. Just making sure everyone is aware....blow a belt, check your magnets!! ****

I had 1 belt start to come apart on mine when I hate the osp weights in and I remember for some reason I'd figured I'd check the weight while I was cleaning off the burnt rubber and sure enough there were a couple random magnets missing. With the d&d weights over the last 3 season I probably had 3 or 4 belts (8jp and 8dn) totally blow apart and never lost any magnets in them. Not to start a quality control match but with a small file you can tell the d&d weights are a better quality than the osp weights and the magnets also fit with much tighter tolerances in the d&d weights vs osp. We've ran the d&d weights in all our yamahas since 09 and never had any magnet issues. That's just what I've seen in my testing and still run the osp weights in my personal sled.

You guys have a recommendation of what helix to try out first in the secondary this year ?

I blew at least 3. No issues but I did have one come out when in a hurry I put it in backward. Have to keep the holes clean and make sure the magnet is in right polarity. Very easy to get in wrong if they are tight. All add ons in clutch have some real potential for danger. You should see what happened to my Aaen roller when tower adapter snapped. Thought motorblew up!

Give that 50/46 a try, I ran that the whole first year in mine and it rocked, may wanna put the stock secondary spring back in for that though. Opo primary spring and try 0-2-2-3 from heel to tip on the weights, should be pretty darn close right there.

Oh so you have a long track, off trail riding I would not recommend 50/46. Even on the trail that's pretty steep for a long track. 48/35 would be a better match for a long track, I would try a couple different ones and see how you riding style fits the backshift/upshift. If you run more aggressive weights you'll need a lower finish angle helix. Example the old
8BU-00's work great with 36~34 finish angle.
