I'll get some pics once my skis come in.
I went for the first ride today since all the changes and it's night and day better. The suspension, even with a steeper attack angle works much better than the stock one(I've had Expert-X's before) and the track just friggin goes(gets on top of the snow better and stays on top). I was wheeling up hills I never thought I'd get up. Totally happy with everything. The 2.5" paddle pushes a little more on the trail and the off trail handling wasn't quite as good but the C&A XT's will fix that.
The only negative is the track rubs on each side of the tunnel. There's clearance on each side, but the Expert-X's have side play in them which is causing the track to rub. I think I'm just going to run it since it works so well and if it starts getting really ugly I'll cut it down to 15.5" in the band saw.
Overall, very pleased

So do you think it climbs alot better then stock?
hows it jump now with the skid?

No question it climbs better. I think it would honestly kill a stock Nytro(or one with the 153 camo). I didn't get a chance to jump the Expert but i'm sure it will be better. In the deep snow it trenches alot less than the stock skid which I didn't think trenched much and it doesn't dig down as bad. The biggest thing I noticed is I can do way tighter donuts in deep snow without gtting stuck. The 2.5" is just that good. If I did another Nytro I would reccomend 151 Vector rails and the 150x15x2.5.

I got a bunch of flush rivets to replace the ones rubbing the track. It won"t be quite as pretty on the outside but it won't tear my track up anymore either.

Right on post some pics of that bad boy when you get it all finished
When i build a nytro this summer i was thinking the 151 2.5 doo track and then some kick a$$ shocks all the way around

I received my C&A XT skis today. Kind of a pain in the butt to mount because you have to cut a portion of the stock spindle bushing off. They'll be a nice change from the stock skis though. Edit: the C&A directions say to mount the tall side of the rubber to the front but it points the skis down. If you put the tall side to the rear it's a better fit and the skis remain level if you lift the front of the sled.
I also included a pic of the bolts I used for the lower ball joints. The I.D. of the new greasable ball joints is 1/2" so the mounting holes in the spindle were drilled to 1/2" and the dealer installed 1/2" bolts. I didn't like it(not the greatest setup) so I went to the hardware store and bought 1/2" axle bolts. Just as strong, smaller and wider profile head, and the best part is that they fit just right. I couldn't believe it but the bottom of the shoulder on the axle bolt was dead even with the bottom of the spindle(the shoulder is 3").
Finally 100% happy with the front end now. I might still mill a few mm off the tie rod but I'll get to that later.

Nikolai,
How would you feel about helping others get set up and running propper. Particularly the front end of the sled. I just got my parts in and want to reinforce but not sure how to go about it. Sorry about the setback on the track and springs. Between the broken front end and the splinted left arm somehow the money tree is withering away.

That's fine. 08NytroRTX(Jeff) is the one to talk to about bracing the sub frame. I wouldn't touch the a-arms as they're a good weak point and easy to bend back. It'll be hard for me to get the time off to do the front end but you need to talk to Danny at Eagle River Yamaha. Just make sure you hang out while he makes the bushings there so you can make sure they're tight. You want zero play. It is expensive for the welding and newer bushings/machine work. I would call for an exact price. Wish I had a lathe so i could do it myself. Oh yeah, get all the hardware from AIH, it's cheaper. If you have any questions just give me a call...240-8505 I'll help you out as much as I can.

Finally finished with the sled. I got all the flush rivets installed along with some structual aircraft screws and lowpro nuts. Now the inside of the tunnel is completely flat where the track goes by. Pics of the sled tomorrow. re-did my ski alignment tonight too, it's alot easier when the suspension doesn't have 1.5" of play in it, lol.

Did 40 miles of riding in deep heavy snow today. Took me awhile to get the skid where I want it but I think it's good for now. It's so much better than the stock it's not even funny. I ended up with 125 psi in the shocks and it just eats up everything in it's path. It also took a long time to get use to the sled. The 16" wide track is deffinitely tougher to manuver but it's worth it. The XT skis worked great too, way more confidence than with the stock skis.
I'm not sure if it's the 16" wide track, chopped up tunnel, or Expert-X but I have about half the snow build up I use to. I always knock the ice off after every ride and there was way less snow today. Getting rid of the rear steel drop brackets was a big part of it and I'm sure the tapered tunnel decreased it a bunch too.
Edit: The 144 is also way more fun to ride.
