2010 phazer mtx stock gearing and clutching. spring wraped to b-1
yesterday about half way through the day i noticed my belt wasnt shifting back to the top of the secondary, and i confirmed this this morning. took off cover and belt guard and drove it up to speed and let off. the belt would remain at the very bottom of the secondary until about 10km/h. i took it apart and found sooooo much dust in the helix. i couldnt believe it, after cleaning it last spring. i believe it all has to do with the 3 bushings because they look to be worn very badly. without the spring in the clutches i can move the helix verticaly (shouldnt move this way) and also the movable shieve has lots of play with the fixed shieve. could this also be the cause for my spring to be rubbing on the helix? has anyone replaced these bushings, are they just press fit and can be knocked out with a punch? and another thing, the splines of the helix look to be worn abit, but do slide alright on the shaft. this was assembled with a dab of grease only on the splines and no other part of the secondary just like the manual says.
btw i have 2 shims in my secondary, and reverse always works. belt is level or just enough to catch a finger nail on the edge of the belt. i plan to leave it like this because i'll sacrifice speed for reverse. and sorry for the bad blackberry pictures.

The moveable sheave inside bushing they do not make a replacement for. Mine got smoked also and I went to a YVX secondary with way more options and cheaper check out the link below good luck.

UP, what bushing are you talking about that they don't make? I found a part number for the bimetal bushing.

are the 3 bushing you are talking about the "buttons" or "ramps"?

Yes that is the bimetal bushing for the helix to slide in and out on. But the bushing on the inside of the secondary sliding sheave is not replacable you have to buy the whole sliding sheave part #8GC-17670-00-00 roughly $130.00 USD.
