I just picked up my new o5 Griz' late last nite(haven't even riden it yet) and was wondering about shifting from 2 wheel to 4 wheel , can I do that on the fly? Is there anything else that you guys think I should know? By the way great site. I have been reading stuff here for the last 3 week which all helped in my diciding on the Griz. I have to work Today but I would hate to see the person who gets between me and that Quad in the morning! :yam:

yes, you can shift into 4x4 on the fly and also into 2x4 but you must stop to shift into 4x4 diff lock.

congrats on the new grizz :-o

Lets elaborate a bit more on "shift on the fly". Sure it is safe to do but you should not shift on the fly if your ground speed is not equal with your rear tire speed, in other words if you are spinning or under a heavy load. If you have a doubt in your mind that 2wd will be adequate to get you through a place that you do not want to stop in, then shift into 4wd before entering that place.

ya . you don't want to be spinning in the mud or your rear wheels are turning at a different rate as your front wheels . they have to be spinning all at the same speed.
