When shimming these skis, so it reduces darting. Is it hard to put the skis back on after, because I know on my DOO the saddle/rubber piece fits perfect, so I'm not sure how you can add a 1/4" shim and try to put the ski back on? Is this going to be a painfull experience trying to put the skis back on with the shim attached to the rubber saddle.

no, its not too hard at all. i used a piece of belt and screwed it into the back of the block. line up the tabs with the spindle and lift the front of ski and it will go.

Do you have any pictures of this done or in the process of being done?

The weight of the sled will compress the rubber down plenty to get the bolt in.

I didn't take the skis off of my Rage, just lift the ski and insert a 3/16 aluminum plate between the ski and the rubber and it's been in there for 2,000 miles without problems.

Just let the sleds weight compress the rubber saddle and line up the hole. It's definately a tighter fit with the shim installed - but it works great.
Shim the skis
For those of you shimming the skis, have you ridden the sleds first to see if there is a problem, or is it best to do it before riding?

0 darting with my junk skis. I've used shims on previous sleds, put I'll wait till I have a problem, before I fix it.

I had severe darting with my Attak. I put dually's on which has helped, I will probably shim also.
To shim or not before I even ride teh sled?
I looked at the wear bars on my Apex as it is sitting on the garage floor currently. There is only a section of the wear bar at the rear, about 3 inches that is off the ground, the rest is sitting right on the ground(these are the original bars, will be changing to some Woody's 6").
My question is, would I be better to wait until I mount the Woody's bars and/or ride the sled before I experiment with the shims?
