Been too busy to report.
We took along a shockwave Helix on my 9 day vacation and we had all different conditions to test in both on the lake and on the trails.
Temps varied from -20 to + 45 Degree F. Wet snow, hard pack, lose powder, and packed trails.
Testing was done on 2005 Warrior Completely Stock except for 156 studs up the middle.
First we baselined the sled all stock RPMs go to 9900 then slowly creap up to 10,200.
Installed Shockwave, this one has the progressive angle ramps with 8 degree spread just like the stock helix, adjustable from 43-35 to 59-51 just by turning the big wheel then lock with allen key.
We started in the middle Same results 9900 then creaped up to 10,200
Turn the helix in 2 turns bam, pulls 10,400 and holds 10,600 across the whole lake and Man does this thing pull hard.
Next day it gets warm, and we are under reving again by 300 rpm, take out my allen key go in 1 turn on the big wheel lock and go, less than 1 minute and we are back on target.
Next day it rained all day so we hung out in the cabin.
Next Day Temps drop like a rock and everything tightens up go out and we are pulling 11,000 rpm, take out my allen key, turn the helix out 3 turns and we are back on target pulling like a raped ape.
This went on all week as conditions changed, it snowed several times throughout the week.
So in a nut shell, you have 16 helixes 1 degree apart, on the sled every day.
This by far is one of the most ingenious products we have seen in many years.
For 229.00 it is a steal.
We will be installing one on my race sled as soon as I can get the spread I need for the Ice.
I stock Shockwave Helixes in Straight rate or Progressive rate.

Cheaper and much more convenient than spending $100-190.00 per helix!
Then, you have to keep changing the flippin things!
This sounds so simple and fast!
Great invention!

This would be great in a nitrou application to help the underv off the bottle and get it closer. Although one part the clutching system it does look like it will work nicely.
remember the days of stationary weights, fixed helixes...technology is great!

How about low & high boost settings...

Not the recommended way to tune the clutch for low to high boost but it will work.
Always Set your target RPM with the Front Clutch first then fine tune for conditions with the Shockwave.

That's what I was thinking, that if I would switch from low to high boost then it would be just a matter of adding 4* or so...

Just put a shockwave on my 06 Tubo Apex this winter. Always found it hard to get the RPM right on the mountain and at home. I used to try and adjust the boost pressure to help this out. Once installed, if the conditions change, it is just a 3-5 minute change and all is set right again and I can run at a nice safe 12-14 PSI instead of trying to run 18 to get the RPM up.
This is a GREAT piece of equipment!

Great gains from this helix. Set it up this weekend and I can say it works great.
