Sidewinder sled lift - What do you guys like?

I'm expecting this is a dumb question, but when do you use/benefit from a lift like this other than when changing oil or installing accessories? I'm debating buying one, but not sure when I'd really need/use it.
I thought similarly for my whole life....several guys I knew had them, and I just kept slugging away working on my sled bent over, and sore back ect..

For an example, your pressure test you could have all that test done at waist level, never to bend over....a muffler swap, at waist level, so nice! Just cleaning under hood, and tightening things....CAI adjustment, belt removal...ALL clutching is now right there, no bending....the list goes on and on.

I just did my tunnel flare install raised up, made is sooo easy....skid work is a given, nice and high.

I bet if you get one, you will wonder how you ever lived without it.....I have mine up all the time now, and now offseason the shocks wont have any weight on them all summer..nice!

Damnit Dan. This was an expensive hobby when I mostly left my sleds alone. The Sidewinder might as well be made of beer the way I can't just look at it and not touch it. Click, click, click and stuff just shows up on my porch. I'm the victim!

I found out this was an expensive hobby back in early 80s when i began the modding....its just gone from hundreds, to thousands now....hahaha

Well, in fairness to me, it has been a few days since I purchased anything for the sled. As long as you don't count the $250 I spent on new LED shop lights to make the garage brighter than the sun . . . Oh and the smoking deal on Pennzoil Ultra that Knapp found, but that's almost like an investment with a guaranteed return when you think about how much I saved on that oil.

Lift a Sled will ship as soon as Kurt has another batch made! Spoke to him on the phone just now, nice guy.

My gosh, I get that disease every fall around this time with sled mods...but with this winder, its far worse then most seasons....all these aftermarket tuners, goodies, just too many things and I want/need them all! What is smart is to leave some things for the following season, makes owning one for a few seasons alot more interesting!

Art, you are gonna love the lift...I used mine today again working on some side fuel tank graphics, perfect height for just about any project from low to high! Best part is I will easily throw this into trailer and take it north with me, not overweight steel here.

Super informative post. Thanks Rockerdan! I've been contemplating getting a sled lift for years but just haven't pulled the trigger. Trigger has been pulled! You did all the homework for me! Thanks!

As a side note - that's my first time removing this or any skid by myself - came out like butter. We'll see how well I do on the reinstall . . .

Holy crap Art! Your damn sled looks SICK BROTHER! Anytime i see that just looks better!

How does it balance on our lift with skid out? I was running mine up on lift, actually sitting on sled....I guess that darn aluminum lift is one sturdy tough bugger!

It had no problem balancing even with the skid out. My 13 year old daughter climbed up and sat on it for a bit too, it didn't budge. This lift is bad #*$&@. Not sure how I did without it all these years!

And yes, those are the stock SE shocks, which will be replaced with Axis custom as soon as they come in ;)

This Lift-a-sled is bad #*$&@. Not sure how I ever got anything done w/o it in the past ;)

Dan, now I see what you were talking about. I don't do anything with the sled sitting at ground level anymore, plus it's easier to roll around the garage than with dollies.
