Might be helpful to have a thread on what everyone is running for ski and carbide combo so far...and your results.

So far I have a limited amount of miles but I have tried the stock ski/stock carbide and it seemed ok. The next thing for me to try with the stock ski's is possibly the stud boy deuce bars or the woodys slim jims.

I also put a few miles on the sled with a pair of pilot skis (6" center, 4" outer). I am not sure (I am gonna need some more miles on the Pilots on better/set-up trails) if the pilots are gonna work for me at this point. The Pilots just seem they want to push especially in the fluffy/powder stuff. It also seemed that the steering effort actually increased with the pilots over the stockers.

Please share your results...

Stock skis, 6" studboy deuce bars. Can ride with 1 hand on tight twisty trails and steer perfectly. No darting at all. Stock skis/carbides were horrible for darting and not knowing when you are actually going to turn. I have 160 studs, suspension on softest setting and transfer blocks removed with the shaft still in place. Sled handles amazing and hooks up great. No pushing in the corners and can accelerate all the way through the corners. Loosened up the front shock on the rear skid 2 full turns, 65 pounds in the front floats. Sled handles big bumps incredibly and now has the feeling of a nice plush ride on the smaller bumps aswell

I rode with the stock carbides, then got a set of woodies dual runners, then I put my c&a pro XTX with 8 inch shaper bars. The XTX skis were the best except a little bit of darting. I'm going this weekend and I put the stockers back on with the dual runners. To see how they ride on the trail. I would really like to try my tuner skis. I have little time with the dual runners so will have more input on them after this weekend. And the XTX seems to have a little more steering effort. But I have 8 inch carbides, so that's probably why. :sled1:

Studroes,

I go 240 lbs. without riding gear. How much do you weigh? Wondering if I should ride it first or take the transfer blocks out and take a turn or two out of the center shock right away or ride it first? I am leaving Saturday for a week in Canada.

Thanks

Suited up I'm 230+. My first ride was horrible to be totally honest. Softened up front shocks, took 2 turns out of rear shock, added 6" deuce bars and removed transfer blocks. It's a totally different machine! Still has the big bump capabilities with suspension on softest setting and handles the small stutter bumps perfectly! When riding from rough to smooth trails you can really tell just by body position that the sled is working very well. I can ride on a nearly perfect trail and go to a decently rough trail and ride at a decent speed and not be tossed around at all. I'd say go for it with your sled. From my experience in stock for it's just too stiff! Been hearing this from others as well

I weigh 240 dressed and mine is set up stiff, but it's perfect for me on the trails. Plus if I see some nice drifts or jumps I can go hit them without bottoming out.

You forgot one lol

After reading threads on the forum, I ordered mine with C&A XTX skis. They rurn well in corners, but so muuuchh steering effort. Double than my '09 Nytro RTX SE.
So I loosen my front limiter straps to the maximum, It ended worse, same pressure on the skis, but now the inside skis wanted to lift and kick in every corner.
Front Fox at 75psi, and tried rear at 125 and 145psi
I will have to try stock skis.

Lookin' sweet Sean. After my Canada trip i will be pullin' the Curves that I had on my ATTAK out and bolting them up. Do I need to add anything like the Thrusters and the Leading Edge? You guys have ALWAYS provided me with the VERY BEST in products AND SERVICE! Why anyone that is not racing would use C&A and not CURVE is beyond me. The keel on a C&A is just WAAY to deep for trail riding while the CURVES are spot on!

We tried many combos on our procross cats, for ease of steering and good cornering nothing beats the offset carbides found on the lxr models.

Very cool Shane - thank you for the compliments! All you'll need is a Viper hardware kit to swap those skis over. Thrusters and LE's are great buy may not be necessary. The Curve ski system is modular and allows you to dial in your setup to the exact riding you do. We always recommend trying them as is and adding those accessories later. PLEASE send us some pics when you get them bolted on the new Viper!

By the way - The Curve XS is arguably the best Drag / Hill Climb / XC / Watercross / Cains Quest / Iron Dog race ski too... Our racers have the championship trophies and world records to prove it ;)!

- Sean

Were you using the 4.5" or 6" carbide, I have the 4.5" offsets and find they push a little
